    Thinking of changing the phone.
Which one is better the new iPhone or android such as htc or samsung.
    Which one would you get?
    An iPhone.

But what I or anyone else prefers is not relevant, you need to know which you prefer. Go into an Apple shop and get one of the shop assistants to show you how an iPhone works and what it can do, then go to a mobile phone shop to see other makes.

However if you go to Android, at least you've a whole slew of manufacturers to choose from.

Hi window phone is also same and easy to use. Also don't need to worry about security. All apps are checked for viruses.

After trying all three type of phones iPhone 4s, windows phone by htc, android by Samsung.
I am going to go for iPhone 4s, the product is much better, easy to use, not too big, the size is right to hold rather than some android phones. I need a phone to keep it with me, not a tablet. The available of software is very good, you can't get best sat nav tomtom for android or win phone. No, google sat nave is not the same as it need data connection / Internet while driving. What happens if network is not available while driving? Park on the side until you get the signal. The app store for apple is much bigger with good collection of apps free and pay. No need to worry about virus as all apps are checked before you can download them from the store.

Also many of new cars have a iPhone connector built in, don't get this with any other phone.
The icloud is the best no need to worry about back up of photos, contact or music everything is backed up on line. Don't get this with android with win phone it is available.

The 2nd is windows phone, similar to iPhone, need more apps and users otherwise very good product. Some post going on about stay away from win phone are wrong. It is very nice and easy to use.

I agree with some post android is good if you like to spend hours trying to flash rom, change os, load different version of os, chane the screen colour. Phone stop working than undo changes try to get it to work again, more time and research. Install extra software for security. If you have a lot of free time in your hand than android is the best phone to get.

Before you go and spend a fortune on the iphone 4s consider this deal which my other half has just taken out:

    http://www.phones4u.co.uk/shop/shop_contract_details.asp?ItemKey=563943&MPItemKey=568860&NetKey=2

£49 for a sensation xe, 12 month!! contract, 300 minutes 3000 texts but only 500mb internet allowance. £36 monthly.

Brilliant deal for a 12 month contract, considering this is what, a £4-500 phone? The internet allowance isn't enough for my usage but when I was on vodafone they could increase to a gig for a small monthly charge. Compare the cost to any iphone over 12 or 18 months, could take this deal and realistically change your phone after a couple of months if you felt like it

Just wanted to point out that with Google sat nav you can now have some form of "offline" nav - in the latest couple of updates, you can save a number of map pages to use later though it's obviously not quite as good as a dedicated sat nav app with offline maps (I quite like sygic, but then I'd never use it enough to justify buying a separate app) but at least it's a step in the right direction.

And yes, WP is rather good. They basically ditched the old OS (which had been going for years and was never designed for touch- my first smartphone, a Motorola mpx200, was running "Windows Smartphone 2002"!) and re-wrote the thing from the ground up.

Nice to see that you bothered to try them and picked what's best for you :) and good thing that there is a choice of OS and handsets out there to keep all of us happy with our toys :D

Android phones come in variety of shapes and sides, if you were looking at something of a similar screen size as iphone then you should have checked out the Desire S

Google Nav is still being developed it will get better, offline mode is coming... not bad for free

The app store for apple is much bigger with good collection of apps free and pay. No need to worry about virus as all apps are checked before you can download them from the store.

The android market is quite big too and all if your not an idiot it should not pose any problems with virus's

Also many of new cars have a iPhone connector built in, don't get this with any other phone.

Can you shed some light on this? which cars come with iphone docks

The icloud is the best no need to worry about back up of photos, contact or music everything is backed up on line. Don't get this with android with win phone it is available.

With you google account you can save your contacts to the google account.
Google music is coming, its in beta stage and being trialed in america at the moment but will allow you to upload all your music to the cloud and access it from anywhere. With picasa web you can upload and your photos to this and use googles gallary app to access your photos from anywhere. And finally google phones backup your settings and apps so if you ever change your phone it starts downloading your apps for you

If you get a phone like HTC, Samsung etc.. you get a stable phone that has been tested, and does get updated you dont have to mess around with it and companies provide like HTC provide a pretty slick user experience with their Sense software

I am going to go for iPhone 4s,

I hear what you are saying, however the 4s is improved over the ip4 due to the android features it now adopts in ios5..

the product is much better, easy to use, not too big, the size is right to hold rather than some android phones.

You are right about the form factor, the size is the maximum for practical purposes.

I need a phone to keep it with me, not a tablet. The available of software is very good, you can't get best sat nav tomtom for android or win phone.

Not sure if that observation is an error on your part or just a blatant lie! ?

I have sygic running on my android and symbian handsets and neither use data, TT was available but I didn't want to load that .

No, google sat nave is not the same as it need data connection / Internet while driving. What happens if network is not available while driving?

The maps would not load if there is no gprs signal, the gps is still active though, you may have misunderstood how the differing systems work.

Park on the side until you get the signal. The app store for apple is much bigger with good collection of apps free and pay. No need to worry about virus as all apps are checked before you can download them from the store.

Actually yes you do in the way of a 3.5mm connection.

    Another misconception there?

I use two android handsets, neither are flashed and since taking charge of my xperia ray, I have not switched on my Apple ipod touch 4th gen :o

WP had cloud back up long before Apple :rotfl: though personally I much prefer to have my own backup and rather than rely on the cloud... Android contacts sync with Gmail (but I've also got an offline copy of everything in Outlook) not sure about pics and music because as I've said I prefer doing my own :p
