Go to a shop and look at them in the flesh. Only you know what you want out of a phone. There will be LOTS of people coming on here with varying opinions however, when it comes down to it, you will have to use and own it for the duration of a significant contract so you need to be happy with it.
Me, I'm an Android fan purely because I can tinker with the phone from a technical perspective.0 -

I would suggest going to one of the larger O2 or carphonewarehouse stores, they normally have a good selection of working models on display that you can play around with. I did this, and after really wanting an iPhone, I ended up with an android. Samsung galaxy S, I love it!
Personally I prefer android over apple, not least because there are a lot more free apps on android. I have an iPad and would happily swap it for my dads android pad - I know neither are phones but shows I have used both apps stores!0 -

Agree with all the above. Iphones are a bit like marmite. (I'm a hater of both btw). DH has iphones (and has hated every one of them). I have htcs with android and love them (DH also loves them and always wishes he'd got one instead of an iphone but his contract renews just before mine and he's too impatient to wait until I get mine)
I've found that phones4u seem to be about the only place that are willing to actually get a phone out and let you play with it before you buy. Most places seem to only have the iphone out so it is difficult to compare in the shop.
DO a lot of research, but remember that a lot of articles seem to be sided one way or the other, try P4U or 3 store was pretty good iirc and take your time having a play.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy0 -
If you buy an Iphone you are tied into Apple for life unless you want to throw away the money you've spent on apps.0

Exactly the same no matter what phone you get if you move to a different OS.
I never got any money back and wasn't able to port my apps from my Symbian Nokias to my iPhone.I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
I am looking to use the phone for satnav, email, games and music.
Is iTunes type of program available for android phones?0 -
for a sat nav app you can use google navigation, which is free - hut relies on a data conection to load the maps.
there are also some apps that you have to pay for ( i think co-pilot is one)
as for e-mail, plenty to choose form, my favorite at the moment is K9 mail, that separates out all your different accounts into differtn in boxes, and has a combined in box.
Games, again plenty to chose from, form free stuff such as angry birds to paid stuff from the likes of EA and gameloft.
again music, plenty of apps out there.
take a look at the android market here:

No, because such a master control program to handle all file-transfers to the phone is utterly unnecessary for the Android OS.
You either download files/proggies directly to the phone over it's own data connection, or you download them using your home computer and just plug the phone into your computer which will "see" it as a USB/flash drive, then you save your files to the phone's SD card which will allow you to run or play the files as normal on the phone (just like you would with a traditional MP3 player or similar device).
No syncing or anything like that needed.0 -
Is it true that most android phones have Microsoft operating system? A friend of mind was saying htc, samsung and most others pay MS $10 per unit because of copy. If this is the case can you chane the os to win phone require?0
