Nope, the device was a pointless replacement to an 5yr old tungsten t2, seems I will have to use another device
If certain function are important to check that before purchase or get refund within few days after purchase.
A lot of newer devices are using outlook for address information such ad apple, windows phone, android ( also via gmail) and black burry0 -
Back to iPhone 4s I have played with it for a while and it is great os. The I messenger and what's app are great apps. What's app let you talk to others on any phone or network. The voice Siri is fun to use make it easy to find the numbers, check weather, send text and lot more. It can even read the text message to you, helpful if you are driving.

Judging on the responses to the query, it is fair to say, it would have been impossible to check before purchase, and that was not the only reason the device was purchased for. The 'missing' functionality is not really a reason to chase for a refund. and the outlook/gmail solution is not ideal as I don't want the adress books merged and I don't really relish the information being within outlook0 -

Did you know these features are already on the Android too? You can see the microphone button in one of the pictures I posted. :cool:0 -

Just a word of warning, that siri app you mention, it has been available on iOS for quite a while now. But to make up for the lack of innovation in the 4s, apple jave disabled it on all other iPhones except 4s, forcing you to "upgrade" to keep using it. That's the sort of unscrupulous company you're dealing withI'm not bad at golf, I just get better value for money when I take more shots!0 -
The apple same as samsung, google, htc, Microsoft is to make money.
The samsung does this kind of things with it's tv range. Take some functions out put new one in etc.
It is called marketing.
I know Microsoft is using voice in it's Win Phone and it is one of the best where Siri is better is way it work. No othe product have this kind of voice function others work on command basis such as dial and name etc.
Most people are looking for ease to use, fun devices don't care about how it work. The iPhone is one of them if not the best one. Everything work out of the box apps, satnav etc.
No need to worry about this app can only work with this size of screen not that or it will only work with version 4.0 or above but not available for your device.0 -

Are you sure about that?
Perhaps you may not realise but siri is a network feature and is not built into the handset

19% of the market is not most people really, I'm not sure what you are asking considering your original post was asking which handset/OS to go for, it is clear you have made up your mind (not that anybody was trying to convince you otherwise) , it seems you are having difficulty within yourself to accept that you have made the right decision for you at this time?0 -
Is it really about the phones? Or is it about the apps?
Cause lets face it, the phones on their own don't do a lot. So it's all about which app will I use the most from which system.Helping the country to sleep better....ZZZzzzzzzz0
