  • I'm really scared obout ringing them as I don't want to waste their time as there are people in more need then me.

Womens aid are there for much much more than severe physical abuse. There's no need to be scared to call them, that's what they are there for. You WILL NOT be wasting their time by calling them and right now YOU ARE in need. They will be able to give you advice but more than that they will be someone to talk to, to listen to. It's great being able to 'talk' to people online and writing things down really helps (for me at least) but nothing beats a real person to actually speak to. They can give you support, advice, an ear to bend. You really won't be wasting anybodys time by doing so. :)

Chin up DH, this time next week you will have everything you need to be able to get things moving. Make a list of the things that you need to do.

I would err on the side of caution if changing the locks, my friend tried to stop her husband entering the house and he called the police, the 2nd time she did it they said they would arrest her if she did it again. because it is his house he can come and go as he pleases until things are sorted in court. Unfortunately. However, as you have the keys at least you know he cannot. I would still put everything in a safe place for now.

I believe some Women's Aid centres have a drop in centre, see if there is someone near you and go and see someone instead, you can just go and sit there and have a change with others who might be in the same situation as you.

Have you made an appointment with the Job Centre to sort out Income Support?

So many women, in your situation, say exactly the same thing I've noticed.

You do need help, and you just as deserving of it as the next person, so please call and get their help.

He may have copied the keys.

You are entitled to change the locks (you lost your key, right?;)) nothing unreasonable in that.

He is, however, entitled to force entry, but he is much less likely to do that than he is to saunter in with his spare key before you are dressed.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x
