Good luck with the solicitor. I want to add one more thing and I can't stress this enough. Tell your solicitor absolutely everything and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do as he/she says. They really will be acting in your best interests. Please don't dismiss the things that the solicitor says you should do because you don't want to rock the boat etc. You won't be acting with a clear head so let someone who is act for you. The solicitor will see everything in a clinical way and will suggest what is best for you and your children. You may not want to cause difficulties between you and your ex, you may want to keep things amicable and believe all he says about keeping your home over your head and paying for the children and I get it I really do but just let the solicitor do everything for you. I wish I'd had the advice and support you're having when I split with my ex. I may or may not have listened, who knows but if I could go back a few years I would do what my solicitor said instead of ignoring their advice.
