I'm new to all this but am about to start reclaiming credit card charges with the help of MSE. I was wondering if the same rules apply to Catalogue accounts? I have 2 catalogues and have been charged £12 four times by one of the catalogues for late payment fees and a few times by the other.....would I be able to reclaim these charges as well?
Many thanks in advance:o0 -
Hi there, i'm going to attempt to claim back catalogue charges, however three of the accounts i had have now been closed. These are with Great universal, studio & Abound (which i think is now additions?)
I have no record of the account numbers, is there anyway i can get these? I have telephoned great universal and the girl said i have never had an account universal, trust me i really did i remember paying it all off! How can i get this information?
Also i have a current littlewoods account however years ago i had one that was closed after i paid it off. Can i reclaim the charges on the old account?
TIA for any helpWinging life....0 -
Apologies if this has been posted before couldn't find any help when searching
, i had replied asking this in the catalogues thread but thought i would also ask here.
Who or where do i go to, to find out account numbers that have been closed? I have tried phoneing great universal as i had an account with them about 3 years ago but they insist i didn't, i really did though i'm not that insane just yet. Also i have an account opened with littlewoods but had an older account years ago which has been closed can i get the account number of that too?
Last question! I had an account with capital one  Stupidly i ran up debt with them as my limit was £200 but i went over and ended up being passed to a debt collection agency as i have around £200 in charges it just spiralled out of control and i was unable to meet the minimum repayments so i got more and more charges etc. Anyway i paid the balance on this and the account was closed, now about 3 years later i have a capital one card again however it is a different account number, is there anyway i can get the number of the old previous closed account? And would i be able to claim back the charges from it??

I would send a Subject Access Request to both companies giving the details of the cards that you have with associated addresses. If you have paid the cards from the account then your bank statements may hold the clues to them. If they were with Direct Debits then the reference number for the DD would be the credit card/catalogue account number.0 -
OK Thankyou i'm just going to look for this online. Unfortunately i only paid at my bank, not through my account and paid catalogues at post office so i've no record of it at allWinging life....0

If you have disclosed any information to a third party (with or without my express permission), will you please include details of this in your reply, along with notes of any legal action passed or pending (to include a true copy of default notices, court orders and the like).
Where any information that you provide includes any charges, for example returned payments, late payment fees, and so forth, would you please advise your breakdown of actual costs (liquidated damages) incurred for each charge, and the Term or Condition on which you rely upon to claim such a charge.
I also require that you forward, within the above mentioned time scale, a true copy of the Terms and Conditions that were in force at the time my account was opened, and any subsequent amendments to those Terms and Conditions.

Hi
Im not sure if Im in the right section so I'll apologise if Im not!
How do you claim from catalgoues - just had telephone call with Additions and they said there is no way they will reimburse any of the charges as they are in the terms and conditons and as I signed and agreed to them in the first place it was tough!! I said to him that they could be reclaimed in the same way as the bank charges claims and he said they couldnt. What do I do now please? Has anyone had any luck claiming from Additions/Littlewoods and if so how did you do it please?
Thanks for your help.0
