£12 fees are not reasonable and no company will try and justify them if it goes to financial ombudsman or court. Most will refund if you complain to them.
Whether you pay the £24 first before reclaiming is up to you. If you don't, you'll probably get hassled by letter and even phone. If you do pay it then obviously you have to fight to get it back.0 -
I too have this problem but it is with Littlewoods. How's the best way to try and argue the fees and get them returned?January Grocery Challenge - Budget £300 Spent £1220

I claimed against Littlewoods. It took 2 months for them to respond saying no. So we have just referred it to the Financial Ombudsman. We expect to get all the money within the next few weeks. Follow Martin's guide - that's what we did.0

Hiya,
Thanks for you reply...I have decided to pay it off as i have a fair few debts and have happily realised that on my next pay day i can get rid of three of them saving myself £200 a month....i decided it would be best to pay it so its out the way and then ask for it back...i know it appears i may be giving in but they might just keep adding charges and i want to get rid whilst it is low.

That's a perfectly sensible way to do things and certainly isn't giving in. The only thing that would be giving in is to give up on the reclaim. Littlewoods have a reputation for being very awkward against reclaims and you will probably have to refer it to the Financial Ombudsman (FOS) after they send you a rejection letter (an easy 4 page form to fill in). But as soon as the FOS get in touch with them they will give up and pay out in full - no credit card company can justify a £12 fee.
Don't let them win - good luck!

Hello, I'm very new to this so apologises if I'm making anyone repeat themselves!
I wondered if anyone has had any sucess in reclaiming Catalogue charges? I have been stung with them for years and would love to get my hard earned cash back! Any ideas??
Thanks0 -

How would you go about reclaiming them?0

Read Martin's guide, same as credit card charges.
It's really easy, you just have to persevere if they say no first time.
Good luck0
