  • I just wrote to Look Agai nas I wanted to claim back the charges for my wife over the last 6 years. They have wrote back and said "Please be advised that we do not, and are not required to keep statements on file for six years. The Data Protection act(Principle 5) states "personal data processed for any purpose or purposes shall not be kept longer than is necessary for the purpose or purposes" we do, however, send our customers statements every month, abd they may be kept as long as they wish.

So at the moment I have only got statements of 2 years of charges, the statements are pretty strange as well.

Any idea if this is right, or what I should do now??

    Hi

I have received a response today from Studio Cards, after I sent them a letter requesting they reimburse £200 worth of late payment fees.

    Their response was:

"We are unable to remove any of these charges as we feel they are valid for not meeting the payment due date."

I don't know what action I should take? I would appreciate any advice that any of you may have?

    Thanks

    Hi Everyone

I decided to call their bluff and sent them a second letter (bank charges) and amended it accordingly.

I received a letter off them today with £200 worth of vouchers and will be receiving my £10 cheque soon.

I know that some people have refused the vouchers and insisted on a cheque, but I am really happy with the vouchers.

Thank you so much Martin:money:, this is my first success from advice from this site.

    I am really chuffed!
  • Anyone who's claimed from Studio, did you claim the Administration charges and the Service charges, or are these 'service' charges simply interest charges and non-claimable?

Also, should I claim the payment protection charges at the same time, or is this a separate matter?

    Cheers.

    Evening

Is it possible to claim for the £15 Adminastration charge for late payments form littlewoods? ( great universal)

the charge is for sending out a letter to me to say i have missed a payment.

I do hope i can claim this back as i sent of for my past statments and seem to have amassed quite a few of these "admin charges"

    thanks JIM

Ill join the club, got one from littlewoods and empire, weve been with woods for years and have had no problems until now, i think they have merged with empire as the sites and addresses are the same, my wife informed them of late payment but that meant nothing , just recieved another letter from the arrears collection department asking for £227 even though weve paid the bill:mad: and charges, know doubt they will add another £12 for that letter:mad: When the wife phoned them to argue the case ,she was told other catalogues do it and we had been charged 6 x before ? Time to fight back on this legal theft, just need to no how to go about it:o

  • I'm about to claim some charges back, I have paid them in the past when I had problems and for the last six months have been fine, then I made the mistake of paying them on the due date via internet banking (completely forgetting they weren't on fastpay), so yes, £12 charge for 2 days late and my min payment is only £5.

Rang them, asked them to waiver this one and they said no, so I'm just going to claim the whole lot now.

Hi, did you claim interest, and if so, which calculator did you use, as the one in this site is set to 8%, not 3%. Thank you
  • Does anyone know how to calculate interest of the catalogue charges? Martin's calculator is set on 8% , not 3%. Anyone please help. Thank you
