really sorry if this is in the wrong place, but could i do this with a credit card?? After a mistake capital one made back in Feb 08, i have been hit with £12 late payment fee and £12 over limit fee each month. Could i reclaim this back??
Many thanks.0 -
Having found this great link - I have started the process of claiming back my late payment charges.Starting with the STUDIO cat.
I posted a letter on the 16th September requesting a full list of all my charges - nothing received as yet, although the cheque for £10 was cashed on the 19th ; so I know they received my letter.
Could anyone tell me how long they had to wait for a reply??
Having a terrible time with my post at the moment (a lot going missing - a complaint has been placed at the sorting office) But thought if I could get a general timescale I could stop worrying that the reply may have gone astray................
any feedback would be great!!0 -

The FOS have sided with Littlewoods in a recent claim, saying their charges ARE fair.
Who are they to decide this, when the law says they should relate to cost?0 -
Hi guys - this is my first post here - I sucessfully and quite easily (with the help of moneysavingexpert.com) reclaimed £2500.00 of bank charges last year and am currently working on the credit cards, however, I have also in the past gained charges for late payments from a mail order company called Studio (www.24studio.co.uk) is it possible to claim these charges of £25.00 a pop from these mail order companies, and if so how should i go about it, is it just the same as bank or credit card charges.??
Many thanks guys

Its a case of writing to them and requesting charges back with charge amount and date. The worst they can say is no, so i would go for it!No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -

Oh No. Gutted! I was really hoping to get some of these charges back. How can these charges be fair but not on credit cards, bank account etc....makes no sense.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0 -
I always pay more than the minumum amount to my Additions account, but as i am paid last thursday of each month (i pay on this day) I am charged £12 every month, asked them if they could waver these charges for me as I pay every month and never default on payments - basically told me to !!!!!! off!!
I dont know what to do to stop this from happening - maybe pay twice a month for a couple of months to get some sort of routine going - or miss a payment and then get back on track?
Should i claim these charges back?
I have about £600 on account with them.0 -

Got a reply from Simply Be today regarding the letter i sent them requesting refund of all charges back from them, below is part of the reply:
"In setting the £12 threshold for default charges in relation to credit cards, the OFT said that this was an interim measure to move the credit card industry towards compliance. The OFT did not say that the £12 threshold was applicable to other types of consumer agreement and have not set a threshold sum or maximum figure for default charges under other types of aggreement, such as the one we have with you"
"I am sure you will appreciate that when you fail to pay the money that you owe us when it is due we incur costs and expenses as a result. We continue to be of the view that the charges that we made in your case are justifiable and not a penalty."
"In the circumstances we are not prepared to make a full refund of charges. As the OFT guidelines came into place from May 2006 we are, however, prepared to refund charges made over the sum of £12 from that date. This refund is made entirely without prejudice to liability and as a gesture of goodwill. Charges refunded to your account amount to £7.00. and show as a credit to your current balance."
They have given me 8 weeks to reply if i am not satisfied!!!
My account is clear and i DO NOT want the £7.00 to show as a credit to my current balance!!!
Should i follow up this complaint or take this £7.00 and forget about it?
Any advice is appreciated - i am seriously annoyed at their ridiculous offer!!!! :mad:0
