good luck MandyLou.
Sent mine off on Friday by recorded delivery just going to check the Royal Mail site to see if they've received it.
I'll post if I hear anything back from them.0 -
I asked GE Money for a list of charges and details of my credit agreement and list of PPI monthly amounts.
I received aletter 10 days later apologising for delay and they would sent documents out asap and 4 days later I had all the information requested and have just sent letters to reclaim charges and complain oabout mis selling of PPI on a store card. Will post any results.DS1 12/10/04

SUCCESS!!!!!!!! :j
I've got home today and there's a letter from Studio. Usual blerb about a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice - but they've cleared my account and paid me £260.00 in vouchers to make up for the short fall
I can't believe how simple it was. It hasn't even been a week since I sent them the first letter asking for the fees back and we had a Bank Holiday!
I don't know whether to send them the vouchers back and ask for a cheque or whether that might be pushing my luck a bit0 -
Brilliant result Dmbaxt. :T :T
I remember reading on here at one stage about a number of people refusing the vouchers and getting a cheque. Up to you if you want to pursue it.0 -
Yay!!! I got £205 in vouchers from Studio today!!! And they have cleared my account!! Would have preferred a cheque but Hey Ho! they don't seem to be dated so will be great for Xmas time!!
Has anyone had any luck with GEMoney or Kays?
Thanx for all your help guys I REALLY appreciate it.
PS. How do you do those smiley/dancy/happy little things and the writing under the line???'Neither a lender nor a borrower be'
Now why didn't I take any notice of the
second part of that quote!!???0 -
Well done Mandylou. :T :T :T
THe writing under the line thing is called a sig or signature. If you look at the top of the page there is a green bar. Go to the 3rd one across User CP and you'll find the option to create a signature there.0 -
Just had a reply from GE Money, offering the difference between £12 and any higher charges, I have declined their offer and sent my complaint to the Ombudsman.:oDS1 12/10/04

Hi Everybody,
hoping one or more of you can advise me on this...
I got a SwanPetmaster vacuum cleaner from littlewoods in July 07.
It cost £73.50 inclsive of delivery charge.
I made a few payments totalling around £30 soon after purchase, and then split with my partner last october 07. I let her retain the vacuum cleaner. It was out of sight out of mind as they say because we didn't communicate at all for over a year.
2 months ago i got a letter at my new address from CapQuest demanding £180 for an outstanding balance of £40 on that vaccuum cleaner. Well it turns out that they have been adding on £12 admin chages every month.
I then sent littlewoods a a letter explaining why i had not been paying AND included a cheque for £60 (they have now had £90 which covers the cost of the vaccuum plus interest). and also saying if I owe anymore for the vaccuum cleaner please send me a statement of account & If not then I assume that the matter is settled.
I recieved NO reply from Littlewoods themselves, but an updated letter from CapQuest saying I owe £120. This all must be admin charges.
So the hoover was £70. I paid £90 already.
But they want another £120 ?!?!? ALL FOR ADMIN CHARGES?!?!
If I understand correctly these admin charges are unlawful?
I dont want to pay them anyway out of priniciple because they are a catalogue and sending letters and other administration is a fundamental part of what they do being a remote vendor.
My situation is slightly different from most of the others in this thread in that I dont want to claim them back, I am just refusing to pay them at this point. If I know I can win in small claims court then I will just challenge them to take me to court and dispute £120 in charges.
Meanwhile capquest continue to send nasties and now threaten a door knocker busybody scotcall agent via H L Legal solicitors.
Whats my best courses of action please?
Thanks
