i want to know this also. they call them admin charges but are they calling them admin charges to cover themselves. £12.00 seems a bit steep to write a letter. any advice and possibly a template would help also.0

ditto that ^^^
Studio Catalogue have added admin charges to my account and I would like also to know how to reclaim these please.0 -
I asked Studio to send me copies of my last 6 years statements via email and within a week they had sent them through the post, free of charge. I then used the template letter requesting they refund all my administration charges including interest. My cheque is in the post ... all £455.81 of it. I just hope it doesn't get lost along the way!!! Fingers crossed
Good luck !0 -
Last week I finally sorted through my debts and have written to all the catalgues etc that i owe with offers of repayment. I sifted through letters and accepted at face value the amount on all the most recent letters as the amount I owed. Now I realise (after only discovering this site today-how typical!) I could have contacted them asking for reimbursement of fees before offering repayment. So far I haven't heard back from any of them or made any actual payments...does this mean I can still ask them for the fees back charged for non payment? I feel a bit silly now...
Thanks, Tigerliz0 -
In relation to my above post...some of my catalogue debts have been passed to debt collectors and solicitors etc. Therefore in this instance who do I write to about reclaiming the catalogue fees-direct to the catalogue still or to whoever is in charge of the account now? Can you still reclaim charges if the account has been passed on to someone else?

i have used the credit card template letter to writ to studio asking for a list of all charges. They have sent me copies of "Trading statements" with a letter stating that these are allowed as they wee printed in the terms and conditions in the catalogue. Can i still reclaim? And do i use the credit card template to send the second letter asking for charges back?0

lisam1964 - Yes you can still. I also used the credit card letter template asking for charges to be refunded, just changed the wording slightly to read administration charges instead of late payment fee. I received a letter 14 days later saying that although the charges were listed in the terms and conditions of the account, as a gesture of goodwill they will refund my charges plus the interest, so make sure you add these on using the interest calculator from this site with your initial request. Good luck!0

i have had a freemans mail order account for around a year and have never missed a payment to them apart from when i moved house may this year and either overlooked my statement or actually never received it as i cant find one, i received a statement on the 5/7/08 asking for payment to reach them at least 7 days prior to the 7/7/08, i have already paid one late payment fee of £12 for the last june overdue payment and now it looks like i will be receiving another ! Surely this must be a good way of making money for freemans, any advise as to what i can do about this0
