    Quick bit of history first!

I have finally persuaded a friend to let me help her re her Studio Card account with the hope of claiming back some of her charges but having actually seen the paperwork now its gone beyond that and I'm a bit out of my depth!

To sum up after a couple of hours ploughing through it all this morning!

    Account started Oct. 02,
last made a purchase made in June 04,
    total of actual purchases £302.00,
    highest balance April 07 £660.20,
amount paid back so far (at least) £1680.49 !!
(I say at least becasue out of 64 statements there are 8 missing)
Sold a 'Payment Protection' which was probably usless as she is self employed and I haven't added up how much that has been each month but around £10, it was stopped in March 07 though.
    'Admin' charges, at least, £478.65
Balance still owing on last statement (May 08) £362.56

So, my question is, can I do anything else other than claim back the Admin charges? That was all I'd planned to do until I'd seen the extent of it and I am just so horrified at seeing how much she has already paid!

Any help/advice would be much apprecitaed!
    Thanks,
    Linda

Update re the 'Payment Protection Plus' - seems it does cover self employment so no actual mis-selling there (though she did think she had to have it) however, reading the T&Cs it says

    12. When cover ends.
    All cover will end:
    . on the date when you have missed paying two montly premiums;

back in 2005 she didn't pay anything for 2 months so should the cover have stopped or will they say she didn't *actually* miss any payments as its automatically put on the statements and taken next time she makes a payment....?

the cost is £1.95 per £100 of the total balance each month, that balance includes the charges and interest on the actual debt! and its supplied by Express Gifts Limited.

    Hi

I am currently trying to get 6 years worth of copy statements or a list of charges from my catalogue (Grattan group) I have sent lots of letters and made loads of phonecalls but the company say that they only hold account information for 2 years. Is this allowed? I thought it was a legal requirement. I have been a customer of theirs for over 14 years and I know there will be a lot of late payment charges. I really want to go back 6 years not just 2.

Has anyone else had this problem? or tried reclaiming from Grattan

I am paying a debt collection agency for a debt I stupidly built up with Littlewoods. The debt is £209 with £175 of it made up of charges! Who would I reclaim from?

I had a Littlewoods Flexible Account store/catalogue card which I opened in March 2002 and closed at the beginning of 2004. I still have my account number and have not changed address since I closed the account. I'd like to claim back the late payment fees I was charged during that time.

If I send a SAR to the address I've found for Littlewoods Flexible Account on the Data Protection Public Register (see below) and get a copy of these charges, does the 6 year limit apply from the date I send my claim or exactly when?

Also, does anyone know if this is the correct address to send the SAR to:

    LITTLEWOODS FINANCE COMPANY LIMITED
    AINTREE INNOVATION CENTRE
    PARK LANE
    NETHERTON
    BOOTLE
    L30 1SL

    Thanks a lot!

I've just spotted on someones sig that they reclaimed catalogue charges. i didn't know you could do this.
Do all the same principals apply as bank/ cc charges? Would these claims be on hold at this time too?
    Any help gratefully received.:money:

    Hi ya

Yes you can reclaim some catalogue charges. I have just successfully reclaimed the 'late payment' penalty charges on my account with Studio Cards. (£400+interest - Thanks MSE!).

Unlike the banks, these don't seem to be on hold at the moment.

    Regards,

    Sam.
