can i claim the admin fee from catalogues

I have been charged a late payment fee of £12.00 on a catalogue account.
I have no outstanding balance on this account, only the late payment fee of £12.00.
My question is are these charges unlawful? I have informed them that I will not pay this charge and instructed them to close me account.
Just wondering if I have to pay this charge?
Thanks:o
Becareful not repaying it as they may inform a CRA of such and you will either get a late payment mark or a default at the worst, it is not worth it for £12.
You should write to them if you had nothing outstanding and they just charged you that fee, that is wrong.
Would the company be Littlewoods direct by any chance?!
Or Kays?!DELETE ACCOUNT.

also I've read someone has claimed against Studio and Simply B, so does that mean I could claim against Fashion world? If so, does anyone know how i go about this? Any info would be much appreciated, thank you.<!-- / message -->

Hi there. Can anyone tell me if you can reclaim late payment charges back from Catalogue companies.
Many thanks0 -
I know you can reclaim late payment fees from catalogues but does anyone know if payment protection charges can be reclaimed as well?
Thanks0 -

Hi there, quite new here and am amazed at all the success that you have been having claiming charges and ppi back. Well Done.
Anyway, tried testing the water with littlewoods by sending them an e-mail asking for a list of all charges made to my account. Had a reply within 24 hours stating that in order for them to supply these details they would have to roll off previous statements at a cost of £4.50 each:eek: Now this seems to be a bit extreme as I have phoned them previously asking for a certain statement going back a few months, which they kindly did free of charge.
So, do you think it is worth me replying stating that I am entitled to this information and that they can only charge me a maximum of £10 under the Data Protection Act.
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work, it is very encouraging to read.0 -
hi scoggs, just write the letter like writing to the bank just change a few things asking for ur statements and enclose the £10 cheque, then you will get all ur statements of littlewoods, i got mine but didnt have much look in getting any money back at all good luck jill0

I wondered whether charges on catalogues could be reclaimed. Luckily I've only had one £12 charge on my Naturally Close account (part of JD Williams group) but they've just put a message on all their statements to say they charge £12 for arrears letters or other communication and to ignore the reference to £10 on the reverse of the statements!
Although I don't regularly incurr charges on my account I wondered if these charges are actually reclaimable. I'm interested in hearing how you get on with your claim.

Thanks both, I shall write to them and see how I get on.0

tried littlewoods with regard to charges and account plus cover(it was on account with no details sent to me) and it was like banging my head on a brick wall. still trying to get my head round it but they will deal with you through their shop direct financial service.Duct tape is like the force.
