  • You could try this number for cap quest 01252 576540

I would personally send of the letters in template section of this site and go from there.Keep up the payment though even if its a reduced one, even if its a pound a month.

Thanks for that info:D .I was originally on JSA when capquest got in touch with me,carried on paying same amount while i was working ,thinking after their nasty attitude id make them wait for their money.Ended up back on JSA through no fault of my own end of November. So payments have always been the same.So do i claim off capquest or littlewoods?Im continuing to pay the 2-37 as thats what was agreed when i was on JSA.Capquest by the way are staffed by the nastiest most unhelpful people ive EVER had the misfortune of dealing with:mad:
  • Go to the National Debtline website and download their budget sheet.

Put everything down on the budget sheet that you spend, this will calculate what you have left to pay the agency.

Print this off, and send off to them asap registered with a covering letter explaining your situation now and mentioning the debtline and your reduced payment.

Edit: You can still put a lower amount for payment as your circumstances have changed again.
    You can claim of littlewoods.
    Hope this helps.

I am with Kays catalogue and in october my balance was only £40.99. I had signed up with Baines & Ernst to help pay off my other debts and agreed that they would pay £5 a month to Kays. Although I didnt realise that the first month that I signed up that my debts wouldnt get paid. Therefore, i missed one monthly payment on the catalogue. They then added a late charge of £12. Then each month the monthly payments kept getting higher and higher as i got into more arrears with them because they just kept adding on late charges because i couldnt keep up with how much was due each month.
Last night i checked, after receiving my statement with yet another late charge on it and i owe them £50. Although when I checked through the payments i have made since November, I have actually paid back just under £45 to them, which has definately covered the amount that i owed them for the items i purchased!! I don't mind paying the £12 admin charge for October but i refuse to pay the whole £50, when i have been making payments to them!! Will i be able to get these charges taken off?

I was emailing Kays yesterday regarding my late charges (in my post above), and had a reply saying that they weren't able to remove the charges via an email and would i be able to call them up.
So i called up last night only to be told by a different person (sounded like a young lad who didnt really know a lot) that the late charges cannot be removed and they are in the terms and conditions, so they have to be paid. I tried to say that they are illegal and he said they aren't as they are different to the charges made by banks!! I am fuming, as i thought from the email asking me to call them, meant that they would have been able to do something!! When I said I would see my solicitor he just said ok!!

There won't be much of a fight really. Once you start litigation they will cave in & pay as normal. Credit card & store card claims are quite straightforward just like bank charge claims were a couple of years ago.
