Sent them a email asking for all my statements, received them within a week added up all the administration charges for late payments which totalled £320 , sent them a letter asking for them to repay them, received a letter this saturday to say as a gesture of goodwill they have credited my account with the total of £408 which has cleared my exact balance, so that is my last debt paid up!!!!well worth it with very little effort.:T
Had 2 success in one day after receiveing 3 grand back from HSBC!0 -

I sent asking for a refund of the administration fees that the catalogues took off me and I have just had a letter off Simply Be and Ambrose Wilson giving me a load of waffle and then telling me that I am not entitled to any fees back and they are not going to offer me any.
They say that the charges theat they made are justified and not a penalty. In addition, the level of charges applied are in accordance with the OFT guidance given in relation to credit cards.
What do I do now, can anyone advise please? Should I threaten to refer them to the FO like Kimmie? If so, is there a template letter to use?
Thanks.
I would send them a letter just stating that as they have refused to repay your claim for charges that you are referring them to the FO for investigation. At the same time as you send the above letter (recorded), you can send it to them via email for speed and notify that a hard copy is in the post.
Give them about 2 weeks, but in the meantime you could fill in your complaint to the FO online and print off and get it ready to send. If you have not heard anything just send it off. you can always cancel this process - by notifying them they have paid up.0 -
I will write this again! computer crashed
I've got two letters back - Ambrose wilson and Simply Be - I ended up with two account numbers yet only brought stuff from Simply Be!
I asked for charges list or statements but I have not got these BUT they cashed the £10! I might write a complaint letter to them about that.
Both letters say the obvious NO you can't have your money back blah blah!
I guess I will now send a LBA letter - Have anyone else had to go the court route or do they pay up after the LBA???
any suggestions would be grate thanks!Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -

Hi, Has anyone claimed charges back from Freemans. How did you get on? I wanted to know whether it was worth it, my charges were only £50.
Thanks.0 -
I claimed from fashion world and got back £265. Use the same process as for bank charges.
Good luck
JoBank Charges - MCOL – LTSB Current Account £4,603.92 / Settled £5,680.76 /Financial Ombudsman – LTSB £11,715.84
PPI - Debenhams / Settled - £2243.20We're in the money!!!:T :beer:0 -
Hello
I have been trying to claim back £20 + £7.68 interest from Freemans.
First of all they came back and said as the two charges were only £10 each that was below the OFT limit so I couldn't have any money back.
They replied to my second letter to say that they were going to wait until the outcome of the bank charges OFT case before proceeding any further with my claim.
Not really sure what to do now as I don't really want to waste £30 MCOL fee when I only stand to get £27.00 back!
Any advice would be appreciated!0 -
Kimmie, can I ask exactly how you worded your letter? I am useless writing letters and need help.
Also, I have already sent them a letter telling them I will start court proceedings if they do not reply within 7 days and that was over 2 weeks ago so in the circumstances, should I just fill in a MCOL?
Thanks

SUCCESS SUCCESS SUCCESS !!!!!
I just thought I would let everyone know that I have just received a letter off Ambrose Wilson and Simply Be giving me a complete load of tosh and then telling me that as a goodwill gesture they have put my accounts back to zere. I am happy with that off the one account because what I owed them was approximately what they have taken off (around £200). I am not happy accepting that off the other one thought because I only owe them about £80 and I am reclaiming £212, so I dont think thats fair.
Can I accept both offers but tell them that I still intend persuing the rest owed to me from the one account as before?
JD Williams is another kettle of fish. I notice that my account with them had also been put back to zero (and I have not even received my data off them yet), however, when I just logged back into my account, they have put my balance back on. I dont know what they are up to. They have been stalling like mad but have now sent me a letter to say that the data will be sent as soon as possible now that I have reported them to the data commissioner. I feel I will be battling on with them.
They are terrible companies to deal with and I want the money back that they owe me, so I await the arrival of the data.0 -
I am new to this thread having been prompted to do a MSE topic search after getting a silly statement in the post from littlewoods this morning:mad: .
My statement was
21 July admin charge £10.00
28 July admin charge £10.00
1 Aug admin charge £10.00
4 Aug admin charge £10.00
4 Aug admin charge £12.00
4 Aug interest £5.53
so I phoned them and the lady said thats a lot of charges for just one month and she read out some charges including more recent ones not on my statement:mad: .
7 Aug admin charge £10.00
7 Aug admin charge £12.00
Bloomin online bank payment took 10 days when it should only take 5 so my £22 payment got there 8 Aug!!!
I know there is a £12 admin charge for late payments and my last payment getting there late made 2 so £24 is what I was expecting, actually when someone from littlewoods phoned and I said I would pay online that day,and I did,he said he would take of the late charges for Aug payment, but he didn,t do that after all.
So the lady passed me on to someone else, who passed me on to someone else who offered to take £20 off my account as a goodwill gesture. Not much of a goodwill gesture considering no-one could even tell me what the 4x £10 charges were meant to be for:rotfl: .
So I got straight on here and found you lot.I phoned littlewoods back and they are sending all my statements since I opened the account;) .Any pre September 2006 are on micro fiche so I don,t know what to expect:D ."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
