Had a result from both Simply Be and Naturally Close. Both have agreed to repay outstanding account balances of not far off the amount requested. They both offered a refund of £1 initially justifying their charges etc. Stuck to my guns explaining that I would take it to the FO. Their solicitors finally wrote and made the offers.
2 more down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats Kimmie...and onto the next! :T :T0 -
Thanks Guys!
Though they might make it very difficult, however finding the real pain in the bum and the most stubborn - Cap1.
Had to go through FO as their final offer was a joke.
How are you guys getting on - had a payout from First Direct also for £1620. Great.
Just going through RBS, HBOS, Natwest. Then I am on to Lloyds, Egg.
I can't wait to get home at night and read everybody's stories and success. It's enlightening.
Thanks for the support.0 -

I sent them an email two weeks ago requesting a list of any charges applied to an old account over the last six years. Was totally shocked when it came through only three days later. I had only placed one order for £84 but ended up paying £330 to them in total because of interest and admin charges. I wrote back to them last Monday requesting £203.50 back and I received a letter from them today saying that the money has been credited to my account (it's closed) and I'll receive a cheque for the total in the next 7 days. :j :j :j:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0

Log into your simply be account and send them an email requesting statements or a list of charges. I successfully claimed £181 back from Simply Be. They responded very quickly via the email route..not sure about the others
Hi
I sent my request to Simply Be for the list of charges on the 12th June and I know the cheque has cleared. but not got anything so far but it has only been 2.5 weeks.
Can you tell me how long it took for your charges to be refunded? Did you have to start a court claim?
much appreciated for any information you can give and congrats on your success :T

Hi Shelley, I have tried that and all they kept doing was emailing back saying that they would respond in 5 days, but I gave them 2 chances and they never did. I then wrote and asked for my statements
Thats strange, maybe they are getting more requests and over run with work..but i doubt it. Keep bugging them via email, what have you got to lose, they'll get fed up with you in the end and reply.
I received my list of charges a few days after emailing them.Hi

Hiya,
I emailed them and they sent me a list of charges. Not sure if this is different to a request for statements. I didnt pay £10. I did have to go to court after receiving a stinking letter saying they would not refund anything and it was all my fault in the first place. Took them to court, they acknowledged almost immediately and after about 2 weeks i received the cheque and a letter stating usual rubbish about court costs and it not being in their interest to pursue. Even though they paid up they still entered a defence!
My claim was for £181 inc int and court costs.
Good luck, i would say make a claim as they only take you seriously if you have gone down the court route.0 -
I sent a cheque and letter on 1st June, asking Simply Be and the others to provide me with my data and (although they cashed my cheques immediately)heard nothing off them until I received a form to fill in and return to them. I sent that back (by now 15th June) and have heard nothing off them since. Wiggynut, I seem to be a little in front of you, keep in touch and lets see what happens.0

Hi guys. I agree with Shelley. Send an email to SImply Be and keep harassing them for your statements. They were not quick or efficient with me. They sent me an email saying passing it on to relevant department. Then another saying we will contact in 5 days. Dragged it on. Eventually they arrived though. They only made a pathetic offer of £1. Persued and got the whole of my balance paid off.0

Keep logging into your account - after I asked for my charges back - my account suddenly went into £290 credit then after 2-3 weeks it went to £422 which is what I asked for - it took a few phone calls and about 4-5 weeks in all but I got it eventually.0
