hiya all, i send the first letter to grattans cat in feb with a £10 cheque requesting all my statments.
today i have had a letter saying that they only have statment 9 to 15. I have them and they charged my £50 in all the statment for reminder fee. also they have taking the £10 cheque. can they do this?
Hi
I would be very surprised if they held such sparse information about your account.
Personally, I would write to them reminding them of their obligations under the Data Protection Act. Also state you are not asking for the statements as such, but a list of charges.
If they still maintain that they don't have this information ask them to prove it!
Good luck.....
Regards

Hi, I've put in a claim for Lloyds TSB, Studio and Ace so far.
I've received letters back from studio and ace today, studio claim was for 212.76 and ace was for 287.90.
basicly ace put 83.90 into my ace account and have said they will send me a cheque for 149.05...Its short by 54.95...which I assume is covered by the bit in their letter about the OFT investigation and the 12 max etc etc...
Studio have given me a credit of 45.40...167.36 short of the amount i asked for...but if i work out the admin charges -£12=44.76...so...the big question is....should i be happy with this?...or do i push for the full amount of charge to be repaid...or charge -£4 or so?
I'm still waiting for statements back from littlewoods, littlewoods visa, lxdirect and beneficial bank.

Only you can decide whether you're happy, but what I will say is this:
If you do wish to reclaim the whole amount, there's an very good chance you should get it. You may need to file a court claim as part of the process, it may take a bit longer, but you should receive the full amount.
Unless your bank can prove it costs them £12 or whatever difference they've worked out, it makes no odds what amount the OFT figure is.0 -

Hi all,
I've tried searching for Great Universal/Essential/catalogue/Next & Store cards - but there's no posts so here goes....
I've had accounts in the past with Littlewoods, Great Universal and Choice, I now only have the one catalogue running with Great Essentials (was Universal).
Q1 - has anyone been successful in getting back fee's from a catalogue?
Q2 - If answer is yes to above - should I try claiming for money on old catalogues I no longer use? (I'd have to dig about in the loft for account info!).
Q3 - Do I send a letter to an address on my statements/letters from Great Ess'? Or is there a dedicated address? (can't find anything searching this board).
Q4 - Is the process the same with a catalogue company ie - do I have to ask them to provide me with the past 6 yrs of statements? Or can I ask them to list the charges they've put on my account in the past 6 yrs? Because with the bank initial letter I wrote to the Data protection people at Nationwide, is there a Data Protection Depart for catalogues?
Q3 - I have only one store card - Next - has anyone tried getting back fee's from them?
Q4 - Is there any address or Data Protection Department for Next? Is the process the same as with the bank (request 6 yrs of statements) or shall I just ask for a list of charges?
Q5 - I used to have a Toys R Us account (GE Capital I think they were?). Should I try that old account too?
I don't want you all to think I'm money grabbing here - the total I'm asking back from Nationwide is only £208 - not a mass fortune of thousands of pounds.
The thing that's annoyed me through all these years is these company's have taken what little money I've had in charges, making their profits rocket and me skint! To get some money back after the hardship, stress & upset they've caused would be so gratifying!
Thank you in advance, I look forward to some helpful advice
Lisa

Got a letter from Studio this morning paying me back my charges "as a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice".
They paid it straight off my account without asking me how I wanted the money paid.
I only owed £50 so I am now in credit by £90.
Are they allowed to do that or should they give me the choice of how I want payment made?0
