Have to agree about pictures. I liked to know who i was talking to, i generally felt those with no pics either a)had something to hide or b)weren't taking it seriously enough to put the effort in to have a complete profile.

  • I was given a leaflet about this site, I've not joined, just had a look at the website, I'm currently thinking of joining. I just wondered if anyone on here had joined, heard anything etc.

They apparently do all sorts of matching from activity partners, to full on relationships.

I'm amazed by how many profiles don't have a pic, if I've the time, I sometimes respond saying thanks but I don't reply to people without pics as I think they're hiding something. There's no excuse these days for not having a pic.

Well had a shocking date tonight

1 She was over a hour and half late, ok not the end of world things come up.
2 She was more content on flirting with the waiter then talking with me
3 When not flirting with the waiter she talked, alot, about her ex - oh he did that and it upset me, and this upset me and I always felt this with him.

Then at the end had the nerve to just get up and leave, no thank you for or anything.

Does no one have any bloody manners any more?

Scotty Scotty Scotty, listen...........take a tip from an old hand.

This is what I would have done if someone had kept me waiting one and a half hours. (not that I would have waited that long anyway, but never mind)

I would have let her flirt away with the waiter, that wouldnt have bothered me, but the thing that would have bothered me the most is that she kept me waiting.

Not sure if you took her out for a meal or what but I would have ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, then about halfway through I would have told her I was popping to the loo. I would then use that as an excuse to make a quick exit and leave her to pick up the bill.:)

Let me know if you need any more tips.;)

  • Oh my gosh there are a LOT of posts on this thread! And I've just spent 3 hours of my life reading most of them :)

I'm getting ready to dip my toe in the world of internet dating after many months of procrastination and I'm looking for advice about what type of photo to post with my profile. So my question is for those of you using dating sites - what's your profile photo like?

Non-existent! I loaded a few as private pics, unfortunately forgot to tick one as private so it appeared on display and was inundated with interest...from men that were completely unsuitable.

Why don't you take a look at any website - you'll see women generally post v attractive pics, whilst men seem to think goofy is more appealing...go figure.

  • Thanks, I've had a look at some profiles and you're spot on there.

I've got a couple of photos in mind - one when I was on holiday this year, I'm looking relaxed and happy but not particularly glam, the other one is a silly one taken in a booth at a wedding I went to recently which I quite like. Was just wondering really what goes down well as a profile pic - male perspective particularly appreciated!
  • I'm a cynic, so if there's only one photo and it looks like a professional shot I wonder if it's actually the person whose profile it is. There are a lot of guys on these websites who are based in Africa and other places who are looking to scam women and they put a pic on that they've taken from another website.

I say two or three decent and recent photos that show your face clearly. Some I've seen you can't even tell if the person is black, white or green they are so murky.
