Started a group on FB as a bit of fun and started thinking, I've posted this there.
Is being 'fat' really the worst thing a person can be? worse than being a liar, a bigot, or 2 faced? during my time as a single person I have used forums etc and come across a hatred for fat people where people openly say 'I hate fat people' and people find that acceptable yet if I said 'I hate black people' I'd be shot down.
How can you hate someone for being a bigger dress size? Do these people refuse to even look at a 'fat' person, but surely by hating someone based purely on appearance makes them worse than those they hate, it makes them a bigot. People come in all shapes and sizes and everyone deserves the same respect because dress size does not make a person a good or bad person.
I don't hate fat people or black people, I don't like the bigots that think this way and seems like it is becoming more common and more acceptable to base a persons worth on the size of their pants.
Thought of this after seeing a profile of a man who described himself as 5ft8 and 15 stone so overweight but hates overweight women.
Had a date off a site I joined on Thursday, seeing him again this weekend.0 -

Couldn't agree more. So many people these days are incredibly shallow. I never put a photo on sites but go to great lengths to tell all in my description.
I will happily contact people without a photo as their picture tells me nothing about their personality. Almost always when someone contacts me the first thing they ask is "can I have a photo" - they get a polite reply declining and that is the end of our contact.
The one's I like best are those that don't have a photo on their profile but say "if you don't have a photo, I won't reply" :rotfl: Jeez, can you spell hypocrite?:rotfl:
Good luck with the second date :j0 -

I always prefer to see what the person Im messaging looks like. While a person may sound like mr wonderful on paper and we get on like a house on fire, I may not find him attractive.0 -

As they say, each to their own. When my (late) wife and I first met there was nothing we liked about each other. She moved in to a house across the road from me and we bumped in to each other a couple of times as we both had dogs.
She thought I was (and I quote) a stuck up snobCan't write here what I thought of her but it wasn't complimentary
. Once we actually got talking things were very different. We married a couple of years later and we were together until ill health took her too soon.
My point is, if I had gone by my initial impression/reaction I would have missed out on the best 24 years of my life.
Sorry if I've darkened the mood, that wasn't the intentionjust trying to explain why you shouldn't always judge a book by it's cover.
