I had my second date off POF last night and it was really really nice. She was gorgeous and we spent about 5 hours chatting as if we'd known each other for years!

I travelled 30miles for the date though which may be an issue but she might just be worth it:)

What's the furthest everyone's travelled for a date?

Just a little bit more than you at 38 miles but then did that every week for 3 years as she didn't drive

Lou - sorry your dating didn't work out but don't give up! From what my friends who have met their partners on POF tell me, it can take quite a few bad experiences until you get a good one! That thing with all the emails from people supposedly working in the same place sounds very dodgy - you should try a different site, Ive also signed up to OK Cupid and Oasis.

I finished things with the bloke I met on POF, I didnt feel any spark when I first met him but rather than dismissing him after one date (like Im prone to do!) met him again as he was easy to chat to and we had a quite a laugh. Second date went well however the third date was a disaster!

For the first time we went for a meal rather than just a drink, despite the fact that we had gone halves when we had met previously and I assumed we would do so again, all he did was moan about the price of everything (the prices were very average and HE had chosen the pub!) when I said I wanted a cocktail he said I should have wine as it was more "economical"!!!! The more he had to drink the more he revealed what an unpleasant narrow minded person he was and told me how he had attacked his neighbours, cheated on his wife etc etc

When the bill came, I put in half and a tip, he moaned again about the prices and then said he didn't want to leave a tip (we had a really sweet waiter) I was so cross, he suggested we went for a meal and chose the venue!

At the end of the evening I just wanted to punch his lights out! He asked when we would be meeting up again and I said I didn't want to see him again as I didn't think we were suited, he couldnt believe his ears!

Its not about money, one of my friends barely has any money but is the most generous person you could meet, and even if you were the tightest person on earth would you really think that that kind of behaviour would make you seem attractive to a woman?! Its funny I thought going for a meal and having a few drinks would move things in a different direction if you get my drift;)

Anyway onwards and upwards!

Can I join in with my tales of woe please......I am just about to give up with internet dating. Granted I am just an ordinary person, I'm not a thin young dolly bird which even the ugliest man seems to think that they want, but I am a nice person and not bad looking (at least I think so !)

I just get messages from old, old, old men - one of whom wanted to know if I liked my t**ts licked. I have met three people, one an out an out racist, one about 10 stone heavier than his photo and one who just wanted to get me back to his rented B& B ....

I message some men and have got various replies, busy, met someone, married !

I'm beginning to feel as if I am really unattractive (and I know thats not true - might not be a stunner but OK) and I'm not really sure that it is worth it.

Just a moan - will feel better tomorrow probably ! at least I have got 2 singles holidays to look forward to.....

AND I have to add that I have seen a profile from a really fat ugly man saying that he wanted a size 12 lady as he did not consider bingo wings atttractive....who the hell does he think he is - Tom Cruise obviously !

Sorry to hear your luck doesn't seem to be any better than the rest of us Kath. On the bright side, idiots like the one you mentioned above will be lonely loooooooong after you have found the happiness you deserve.

I'm sure it's going to be great, you've talked a lot so know quite a bit about each other, so unless he turns up with the names of his ex partners tattooed down the side of his face or brings his mum with him, what's to go wrong.
