You shouldn't feel like that- your no failure
hear hear Scottie!
You're no failure...you just haven't met the right person yet.
Believe you will and you will but don't get desperate..

You have to pay to download the book, but it's worth every penny!!Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....0 -
I'm quite happy to respect your views there, They are clearly and soundly based on what you have seen/ experienced, as are mine.
And yes there are lots, in fact far to many guys who use these sites as, well for want of a better word, a hunting ground for more- and yes some already have partners
It means that it is very hard for a girl to really be able to believe someone- as you rightly pointed in my house mates view and experiences.
I would quite happily sit down over a coffee, pint or whatever and just chat with someone to get to know them.
And with reference to your last comment about some girls having low esteem and self confidence thus joining these sites- again, I would say it takes alot of self belief to sign up to the likes of POF and put your self out there for a wider audience.
We all need to stop seeing it as a last resort and see it as another opportunity, and take the pressure off ourselves- that is a mental thing and only us as individuals can do this but I think we need to.
I think the crux of the problem lies with those who use these sites for the wrong reason meaning those of us who want to use them for the right reason ( to find someone, not find something to do) normally get mixed into the same barrel
I dont know if it's self belief...more like hope, that drives me to those sites! LOL! If I haven't got anything else left...at least I have hope!Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....0 -

There Goes Trouble.....your previous posts I can totally relate too, I am not on dating sites at the moment however I am single, still living in the town I grew up in, friends have moved in with partners out of this area due to it being unaffordable, they get on with their own lives if I do catch up with them it is for coffee or dinner, not the ideal place to meet anyone.
Travelling on the train / tube into london you hear these 'oh we met on the train' (my friends brother married the girl he met on the train) blah de blah...I have never been approached by any guy on public transport. Probably a good thing in a way...but you get an idea.
I work in a very small firm and can go a whole day without seeing anyone, so I have no chance of meeting anyone that way. I am very shy and tend to redden like a raspberry.
I am very happy though in my life but it would be nice to share even happier times with a boyfriend.0 -
Does anyone think that if someone pays to go on a dating site they're more serious than those that are on free sites? Anyone had experiences with both?0

I could really do with some advice. I came out of a very unhappy long term relationship 3 months ago and am ready to start meeting new people. I joined Match and Guardian Soulmates a couple of weeks ago and am just finding them both very disheartening. I've sent out a fair amount of emails and winked at (or equivalent) lots of people, but i just get no response. The only people I get winks from are people I am just not interested in and I haven't had any emails. I know so many people who have met their current partners/fiances through dating sites so thought it would be a bit of a confidence boost etc but it's just been the total opposite. Has anyone else experienced this or have any advice on what I'm doing wrong? I don't think I'm bad looking and my profile seems ok. There has only been one guy I was emailing and we seemed to be getting on fine but he suddenly stopped emailing a few days ago for no apparent reason. Maybe I just need to be patient as it has only been a couple of weeks but I would have expected to at least get some responses :-(0

I think that's pretty normal. Have you e-mailed anyone rather than just winking at people? I've been winking at people this weekend, but haven't had anyone wink back, so think I'm going to change tatics and just e-mail the guys I like the sound of.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000 -
