ASDA parking fines

The car park is free?
Then we have established landowner losses resulting from your action. Zero. Case dismissed.0 -
I seemed to have touched a raw nerve yesterday when I told the BPA's Steve Clark what I thought of his outfit:-
I will say though that I am content with the actions that have been taken and I don’t believe that I work for a ‘cosy members club’ – far from it.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Thank you again for your replies and the reassurance.
The car park is free for 2 and a half hours, I think I was 30 mins over
and it was the very first time I have ever overstayed
This is so annoying when you are actually in their shop spending money!
'Annoying'... that's the word another poster used yesterday (it's on the previous page of this very thread!); his post was about the same scam and I was gobsmacked that people could be so mild-mannered about this utter scam and 'wonder if Asda can do anything'... !!
Of course Asda are fully liable for all actions of their agents, of course it's a scam and it's surely much more than annoying. What makes anyone think it would be OK for Asda to 'fine' their paying customers?!
Private parking companies only get away with it because far too many people in this Country are generally far too quick to fall for scams and believe in letters and notices that look as if they carry some authority. Like any fake parking tickets from any private firm, which are a classic impersonation of authority con exercise. Asda and their pathetic parking agents can't fine you!
See post #112 above and my reply #114.
COMPLAIN IN WRITING OR BY EMAIL TO ASDA HEAD OFFICE, TO THE CEO.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It never ceases to amaze me that people are treated this way by companies such as ASDA when they are parking to buy stuff from them.
If any supermarket or shop allowed parking scammers to target me in this way I would never ever shop with them again and I would make damn sure that their directors were 'well informed' of my disgust!
Like you I am amazed that some people are only annoyed and will continue to shop there!0 -
Thanks for the further replies. I have emailed the CEO of ASDA and of course I have said that I will not use their store again if this charge is imposed. I did make the point that I was in his shop spending money! and the more I think about it the more ridiculous it becomes.
I know, "annoyed" is not the word for it :mad:0 -

Just a second, "if the charge is imposed", by whom?? They are not an authority nor are they an embodyment of the law. So regardless of whether you decide to shop there again, please insure everyone here that you won't be paying it come hell or high seas.0 -

By the way, Asda staff are on a charm offensive. They ain't gonna let TCP damage that.0 -
Worth sending a copy to 'J Bottomley' at Asda Executive Relations as mentioned in this thread in post #73:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4116581
Not sure what the email addy would be so you could send a pm to that poster, melis, to ask what J Bottomley's email is, you need the first name to get the full email which follows the pattern:
firstname.surname@asda.co.ukPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I rang the store but couldn't get to speak to the manager. That's why I emailed the CEO Andrew Clarke. Well see what today brings, see if he replies to the email I sent. I know it's been read as I asked for a receipt.0
