Parking Enforcement Notice - Paid

I out of the blue today received a Parking Enforcement Notice and a £90 charge (£45 if paid within 7 days).
After the initial shock because it referred to a date three weeks previously I remembered where it had occurred. I had parked on the Coop Supermarket car park at Whitby. I knew there was a time limit attached to using this car park and remembered I had exceeded this. I could have parked on the pay and display car park across the road but wanted to park charge free as I had done on other occasions.
So I realised I had infringed the rules of parking there for free and so I have stumped up the £45, now the matter is closed, no red demands or threats of bailiffs etc. I was wrong and have paid.
Fair dos as far as I'm concerned.

You're clearly nuts! Would you like to send me £45, too? You obviously have money to throw away.0

Dear nobby24, I have now sent you a invoice for £100 for paying that charge, it will be reduced to £50 if settled within 14 days from the above date. are you going to pay it?PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0

The rules were there for me and everyone else to see, I was trying to avoid paying to park and I misjudged my time. It's a fair cop. I don't see what the problem people have with that.A problem shared is a problem multiplied.0

Let's take into account that the private parking company HAVE NO LEGAL RIGHT TO CHARGE YOU !!!!! What if the charge had been £1000 would you have paid it because "it's a fair cop" ?All aboard the Gus Bus !0 -
Perky couldn't have been THAT desperate that he's spent the time getting that many posts before posting here surely ?All aboard the Gus Bus !0

I bet when the PPC received your payment, the shaven-headed chimps were rolling about on the floor of the portakabin, saying "Look at this, some idiot's paid us, there's one born every minute!"
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years.
