ASDA parking fines

Hi,
I'm not sure if I should be starting a new thread for this, please advise me to do so if you think it necessary.
I have been receiving phone calls from Rossendale Collect who I believe are a debt collection agency. They always call from a private number but have left me a voicemail asking me to contact them. As far as I am aware I have no outstanding debts, the only thing I can think of is a parking charge I received at Asda which I ignored. Even though I have never posted on here before I have used this site for years for advise so I knew not to pay itHas anyone ever heard of them going to a debt collector for something like this?
I only received 1 letter about the fine, to an old address I no longer lived at. I have not received any letters since but there is a possibility some have been sent out and the new tenants just didn't bother to forward them on.
I don't want to call them as then they'll know they have the right number for me but I also don't want to ignore it in case it is a genuine collection. From researching them I can see they do a lot of work for the council but my council tax is definitely up to date.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks0 -

You need to read the Newbies Sticky to get the most up to date info!
Everything, including debt collectors is covered there.
Hijacking old/outdated threads from 2011 only serves to confuse other people as the law changed in 2012 and the situation has remained fluid ever since.0 -
Hi, Duskybeauty and welcome to this forum .....
yes you would be better starting your own thread so as not to cause confusion
the newbies thread is below , please read through for up to date info....

If you have moved then it is quite likely that it is PPC related, can you remember who the PPC was ? and when the dastardly deed was committed ?
It may well be worth a chat with the new tenants to see if they have any of your mail ....
so .... please read through and come back if you need more advice

Search the forum for 'Rossendales' and read post #4 of the NEWBIES sticky thread. Tell them the debt is disputed and denied and that their contact is harassment.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

We take my blind, amputee brother who also has mental issues to shop once a month in Asda Perth. We borrow a wheel chair from his care home and need to use the disabled spaces provided. To our horror, a penalty charge was attached to the car on our return. The park is 'managed' by Smart Parking Ltd. They did not wait to check if we were genuine disabled customers. The penalty was given because we did not display a blue badge. In Scotland, the blue badge is not valid in off street parking. I have talked to Asda management and sent letter to SP, local MP's, local newspapers, loads of Twitter tweets to and fro Asda. They refuse to inform me of how I can safely park on my next shopping trip in 2 weeks time. I need the larger bay to get a wheel chair up to the car door. I could go to Tesco who have no restrictions or use the disabled bays at Asda and get a ticket again. This smacks of discrimination as my brother is locked out of Asda Perth. Should I get a lawyer involved on these grounds ?0

Hi and welcome to the forum ........
I will ask if you will have a read through the newbies thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
this will give you a grounding as to what lies ahead ...
the newbies thread will advise you to start a new thread ... this is to avoid confusion arising .......
please tell us that you have not told 'not so smart parking' who was driving ?
if not then do NOT contact them until you have received further advice ...
when you start your own thread please tell us who you spoke to at Asda ?
I was about to quote the EQUALITY ACT 2010 but I am not to sure if this has been superseded ...
again on your own thread the forum wise owls will advise
You will win this if you please follow the forum advice ...
good luck
