I am still going to Facebook local page to warn about the three hour no return rule but add how helpful the staff were when I complained about it ;) I mean if their own staff don't know - says it all!!! :D

Good, that might also encourage other people to complain...and it was never a fine. It's a well-known scam industry; this con has been outed by Watchdog:

Was a bit worried that you still said 'I was going to pay it...'. Never do that! Please do spread the word and never call the thing a fine, it's not even a parking ticket.

Just an invoice from a dodgy company.

Just been to the Asda in stockport and noticed they have changed the name of the firm dealing with the 'invoices'. Not heard anything since for my invoice and not sure if its the same firm

Hi - I have just had a Parking Charge Notice issued by Asda Stanley for overstaying free time. According to the notice and the photos attached I arrived in the car park at 07:31 and left at 16:50. What I actually did was pop in on the way to work at 07:31 leaving at around 07:40 and then came back after work 16:30ish and left for the 2nd time at 16:50. Ive called the store and they have agreed to cancel the invoice but my question to them is why was it issued in the 1st place! Its happened to at least three of my friends at the same store over the last couple of weeks too

One other question on this topic. If the car park management has been contracted to a 3rd party - how can Asda cancel the "invoices" raised by the said 3rd party.

It's probably best if you started your own thread.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
  • We parked in Asda carpark Waterlooville at 9.15am did our shopping and as we walked back to our car at 10.45 we were just being issued with a ticket from the from the attendants machine,we couldnt believe it ,he said we should have shouted and before he processed the ticket then we could have explained how long we had been there and we would have been ok.The company is Smart Parking and we have a ticket for £70 or £40 if we pay in 14 days. This chap would have to have scanned our car before 9am and we were still indoors then,we are so angry as we no full well we are being ripped off and its just our word against theirs,we have written a letter to appeal and also rung the store manager.

Did you even bother reading any of the rest of this thread?
The word "gullible" isn't in the dictionary
    Tickets: 19 [cancelled: 18, paid: 0, pending: 1]
    PPC Appeals: 8 [accepted: 2, rejected: 5, pending: 1]
    POPLA: 4 [accepted: 4, rejected: 0, pending: 0]

And when you've read the NEWBIES sticky thread, second to top of this forum, you'll learn how to appeal and win. Or you could always complain to Asda like you would of course. Smart Parking always cancel when people use our template appeal or if Asda tell them to. This is nothing.

  • Hi gents, I received the letter this morning. I was parking at ASDA twice that day. I told them, that they are trying to charge me for shopping with them twice. Lady on the phone asked me for notice number and registration and said, that that's it. She said, that she sent a request to the SMART PARKING to cancel it. Hope this helps! :) Thanks a lot.
