I rang the store but couldn't get to speak to the manager. That's why I emailed the CEO Andrew Clarke. Well see what today brings, see if he replies to the email I sent. I know it's been read as I asked for a receipt.

I realise than it is much easier to send an email but IMHO an actual letter to the managing director or CEO carries a lot more weight and is more likely to get attention.

Quite a few companies I have emailed never bothered to reply.

I agree, letters are good and if they do not respond to the email, then a letter will be posted :)

However, even if there is no reply, we will not pay the charge. I have been reassured with all the posts on here.

By the way, how come the DVLA can give details of your address to these private companies? what about data protection?

They get around that by citing "due-cause" and demanding a £2.50 fee.

I got an acknowledgment from ASDA CEOs representative, someone by the strange name of, Executive Relations! yes that's how they signed it, no name at all. I hate it when that happens, but I will deal with that when I hear more from them.
They are looking into my case;)

That's good, that's J Bottomley and colleagues as per my previous link above. You should get a favourable response.

Not a good response from someone called Lauren Pell, they have advised me to contact the car parking company, which I will not be doing

    I have a suggestion.

Send a copy of your receipt in reply to Ms Pell and ask what loss Asda suffered by a genuine customer exceeding their parking company's arbitrary 2 hours purely because you were browsing their Christmas display, seeking out toys and DVDs for family presents, trying on clothing, were in the cafe(?), and were spending £xxx on groceries like you (used to) do every week. Ask what timing extensions have been considered for customers driving in to a busy car park in November/December and then browsing & buying in their large store, in the run up to Christmas?

Is there any other reason you overstayed such as by virtue of age or any medical condition? If so then tell us first, as that would also mean that Asda are breaking the Equality Act. We can help you word that paragraph! :)

If not then go for the first paragraph, specifically asking the question about loss.
