    Hi

Thanks for that. It doesn't mention specifically on the new regulations customers on BB LLUs ,like Tiscali. Will LLU customers also get a MAC without undue delay.(on request and free)

    Alan
  • LLU's should be given out but no standard for LLU has been agreed so one MAC may not work with another BB supplier.
Blessed are the geeks, for they shall inherit the Internet.
  • Just for informatiom ...Supanet (an ISP) are currently flouting these regulations and require £50 from anyone that wants a MAC code from them claiming it is an "administration fee"..It will be interesting to see if OFCOM take any action against them

Bulldog are point blank refusing a MAC code because "they don't have to give it over..." When Ofcom's new rule was pointed out to them & a subsequent complaint made with Ofcom, still no joy. They just don't care....

So whilst everyone else is getting an "all up" inclusive calls, line rental & hi-speed BB for £30-ish a month, I'm still having to cough nearer £50 a month.

There MUST be a way out of this without losing several weeks BB connectivity, phone line etc.?

I want to move away from bullsh1t broadband too. Most annoying and unpleasant company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

If you were with BT before bulldog I would just call up BT on the number they provide on their website. I think they can do something called a "return to donor" which returns your service to BT. Don't quote me on that though. It's my mum's phone line but I got it changed to bulldog in my name so going to get my mum to get it transferred back to BT.

Just wondering if there were any time regulations with regard to providing MAC. AOL told me i would receive within 48 hours 5 days ago!
  • Trying to get a mac code from virgin is a total joke!

It took me over 6 hours on the phone before this was sent off.

They initially said the request was never received via SA call centre which is lies and eventually let me have this but only after saying there would be a charge for the code and then sayong it would take 30 days.

Virgin broadband is useless and they lie lie lie.

Saying that I have gone to BT and they are virgin on the ridiculous too as i am still waiting for the home hub phone which has allegedly been sent out 4 times now via Ghandi in India call centre and pony express by the look of things.

Come on guys get a grip.
