OFCOM's new MAC regulations

I think Nildram are trying the same trick with me. I've spoken to the same person twice now who said firstly that their system was down, then the next time said that there's some sort of error on the line. Huh?
I'm gonna phone them again and quote the Ofcom stuff.
Here's hoping0 -
I used to work for Nildram and I requested my MAC last week.
Low and behold it throws out a Error 91 which means they can't generate the code (again)
So much for the a MAC has to be provided within 5 working days. If I don't have it by lunch time guess who's ringing OfCom?0 -
I requested my MAC from BT this evening and after a long and drawn out sales pitch they said it would be emailed to me within 5 days.....
Should they have given me the MAC over the phone or is 5 days the norm
Any advice greatly appreciated..0 -

I too requested mine on Friday it should be emailed by Wednesday, it might be the max time allowed for the process to happen. I am expecting some phone calls tempting me to stay with BT, although I have written a letter of complain over there shoddyness."Well, that sounds like a pretty good deal. But I think I got a better one. How about I give you the finger, and you give me my phone call"

Update on BT policy: They will try and insist you accept an emailed MAC code. You have a right to get it by post in hard copy if you wish. Don't let them try and hoodwink you in any way, quote that you know the Ofcom regulations - 5 working days. If you ask for hard copy they have to send it to you that way.0

Nonsense, only stipulations are the provider "shall communicate the MAC to the End-User in writing by letter and/or by e-mail within five working days of receipt of the End-User’s request".
Nowhere does Ofcom give customers the power to dictate how they receive their MAC.0 -
and/or means customer can request both or either, & recieve it within 5 days of such request - so ask for both & quote the aboveSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

MAC codes have nothing to do with mobiles, if you want to move a mobile number ring the Network and ask for your PAC number, you will have to be outside your original contract or prepared to pay up your contract to get it.
A MAC will only apply to internet connections using wired phone lines (aka BT type lines).====0 -
