The way i see it, Sold phone and because its a popular scam item ebay decide to withold funds to keep the buyer and thenselves safe.

Seller failed to complete that transaction and a red mark on the account.

All done and dusted except a warning for the future?

Seller sells the same item, That must be ringing alarm bells. Buys another phone but has not yet posted the
    one they sold..

Buyer complains that no item received yet and Ebay decide seller is too much of a risk and cancels transactions.

Why did you not post the phone you sold?

This baffles people why I done this, its simple, I had money in my paypal account which they reversed, I was never going to get at it, so do I post my phone and loss out? Or do I just refund the guy who sent the money?

I think it's good the OP got banned, people like them who don't read through what should be done with eBay an PayPal deserve to be banned, it doesn't matter if they put a hold on the money, you have to send. It was stupid to sell something of high value as a first sale anyway, especially a mobile phone!!! angry-smiley-014.gif

I keep hearing this "I was stupid to sell this on first sale" maybe I was, however I only want to sell this phone, I have no interest in buying and selling tat on eBay I wanted rid of this phone.

The buyer of his phone agreed to cancel anyway so hardly a scam, the cancellation was probably even agreed in the transaction pages. What if it had been the buyer changing their minds out of interest? The buyer would have been penalised for the buyer cancelling then.

This bloke was just someone new who got caught up in eBay and Paypal crap that they have been dishing out for years. Christ, I had enough after selling low value goods after 6 years and got out and have my own website rather than selling on eBay now, I'd not even consider selling something so expensive and receiving the money by Paypal though - cash yes, Paypal no - they are a law unto themselves and if they decide the transaction was 'dodgy' will keep the money for 180 days. I use it for my business but willl never keep much money holding in there as I know how quick they are to limit accounts.

I went on holiday and my staff were having trouble with a payment showing on screen and I needed to check whether the funds were in Paypal so they could send the order, I looked in the account and then it put a hold on my account because I accessed it abroad and told me to call an 0845 number and send them loads of stuff. I emailed them (ironically I was in the US at the time) and told them that it was MY account and I did not give my staff free access of MY account and I was on holiday and was working and so I had to access the account. They opened the account back up the next day, no contact, no apology though.

You contacted Paypal though, maybe if the OP had done so he would have understood how to get the funds released quickly & this wouldn't have happened.

But you're not listening - you've got a fixed idea of how eBay and PayPal work - hermum has already explained a few times what you should have done-

When a hold is put on funds, you don't 'lose out' if you send the phone. Why?

Because the hold gets lifted when you get feedback.

So the quicker you post it, the quicker you get feedback and the quicker you get your money, see?

Your case bears no relation to the Opso I'm not sure why you bring it up other than to show the shocking news that companies make mistakes. So you don't like paypal your choice but millions of people use it daily with no problems and are happy with the service provided.

Lots of new sellers join ebay on a daily basis and use paypal with no problems but unlike the OP they are not too lazy to spend 10 minutes checking how ebay and paypal work. So the OP didn't do this and basically made himself look like a scammer. So he was rightfully closed down. He still now is enable to admit its his own fault and is blaming paypal for his own ignorance.

Which actually shows very good security, and the same is also done by many credit card companies if they suspect fraudulent transactions.

I refunded the guy £30 via bank transfer, I then phoned Paypal explained all and they totally got the wrong end of the stick, they also refunded him and put me in the minus, so the guy has got £30 refunded by me and by Paypal, and of course the next thing will be they take it of my credit card.
