  • Spent a load of cash last October on Samsung TVs on the strength of getting £150 cash back on a 2nd TV which effectively made it free. Submitted everything in line with the T&Cs but have not been paid as of 16th Jan 2013.

I submitted my claim near the end of November and it was paid this week - no problems.
  • I submitted my claim at start of Dec '12. It went to pending and after a month they requested photographic evidence from the back of the tablet, which I duly returned. I heard nothing and have never been able to get through on the phone (using 0191 300 0742 from saynoto0870), the call was never answered.

However on the third attempt today, Jade answered the call and validated my claim there and then. She made no reference to the photos I had sent!

I now wait 30 days for the payment to appear.
  • Hi, just a quick reply that I have just been paid my £30.00 cashback from samsung, Bought the tablet at the beginning of November....2 and half months....seems to me quite a long time.Good at the end.
  • Could I warn everyone not to enter this deal. I bought from pc world, the samsung part of the deal will not validatemy claim despite all docs submitted and v frustrating trying to photo back of tablet, eventually scanned it but they will not validate the claim. They are criminals really. Its just so bloody frustrating!!
  • Just adding my name to the list of very unhappy Samsung customers. I bought a new PC monitor back in August, did the usual, got a validation number and then get lies upon lies about the payment. They tell me money was paid on 12/12/2012 and should have reached my account 9/1/2013. They've now asked me to call a premium rate 0843 number (perhaps how they finance this scam). In fact I did try, but they're even too lazy to answer the phone. I've looked for a complaints number/department for Samsung but doesn't seem to exist (are they really so good, or confident, or just uncaring?). Will persist but am now sending my correspondence to Trading Standards. No more Samsung stuff for me - I'm voting with my feet...

Good luck to the rest of you.
  • A small success. I have the name of a real person at Opia Ltd (who are managing the Samsung Back to College rebate promotion). So please feel free to deluge her with lots of emails, calls and letters. Maybe they'll get the message we aren't happy!

    Send to:

    Aimee Ord
    Promotional Support Team Manager
    tel: 0845 094 9493
    email: aimee.ord@opia-sp.com

    The registered office address is:

Opia Limited, 15 London Street, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 8AP

Their tactic with me is to say I've been paid, so far on four different dates. I get the impression they want me to be thankful and shut up, but they chose the wrong person for that. Feel free to post the Opia contact details on any similar forums. And good luck!
  • Hi

I am also in the same position, two Samsung tablets and no cashback!

However I will not be defeated..........

    1. I am sure you will find the Opia's Directors email on there website. You may wish to email them all?

    Search opia-sp.com

    2. Samsung UK Directors are searchable, and if you play with the names I found @ samsung . com .

    3. The retailers also should help, Argos has been awful. Make a formal complaint and if you paid by Credit Card contact them. Your contract is with the retailer and they advertised the deal.

    4. Lastly the nuclear option, take samsung/the retailer to the small calims court (costs £90 ish). But I bet you get your cashback then.

I feel its not the money it's the principle of being ripped off I cant stand.

    Best of luck

    M

Bought 2 tabs from John Lewis and claimed properly.Opia paid only £50 instead of £100.Rang them and the CS lady has blamed me for not entering both serial numbers as their system shows only one.I did enter both and I was very careful as there were rumours about Opia. However,in their confirmatory email, they wouldn't show the details of what we had entered and unless I had taken screenshots of each page while filling,I wouldn't have any evidence.
I said the CS that I'm recording the phone call. She said a supervisor would get back to me.No signs:mad:
