dose any one know how samsung and partner get away with dragging things out so much?
As I knew it reasonable as in how long should it take pc world to repair a pc/ laptop is 14 days
When I bought a panasonic blu-ray player claiming the 2 complimentary movies did not take more than a few weeks0 -
I too am waiting on cashback(£100 for Samsung laptop) - claim submitted 4th October. Been told that they have had an unexpected response, which is obviously a lie as the same excuse was given last year. Want to start bombarding Samsung and PC World with emails as this is obviously a scam and done based on the fact that people will forgot to claim or give up chasing up - anybody got any contact details?
Annoyed initially as PC World advertised the product as if £100 cheaper (taking off the cashback).
Also would like to know if anyone else had problems making the claim online - this site kept crashing when using the Samsung laptop, but went straight through when used another laptop.0 -
you should have had a claim number to show that you had ticked all the right boxes
If need be use a court to part them from the money0 -
I've been waiting since 27/9/2012 for my £50 Cashbackfor a Galaxy Tablet and not received anything. Got a Claim ref number but that's about it.
I've emailed them but get no reply, tried phoning, but no answer.
Looked on internet and many other people have smilar problems. Looks like one for BBC Watchdog to investigate.0 -
Shame i didn't see this thread before.
I am an avid Samsung fan, I had the S2, now have the S3, samsung TV and recommended them to MANY people.
I bought the Galaxy Tab 2 from Currys around 4 months ago (which was advertised with the £50 cashback already knocked off).
It took me 10+ emails plus phoning them to get my claim validated after around 25 days. After around 2 months (with emails being sent around once or twice a week every week after it was due) I finally managed to get through to them by phone again (i spent £10 skype credit getting through as 3 of the 4 times being on hold for 30 mins when i was 'first in the que' I would get told that the lines are too busy and to call back later.)
When i finally got through I was told they didn't have my details on record (I have around 15 - 20 emails with my bank details and claim number included in). I was then told the accounts department need to call me to take those details, which will take 10 - 15 days, and then a payment can be made up to 45 days after that, and up to 5 days to clear. So I'm currently looking at, if all goes well, a total of 6 months waiting, £10 skype credit and MY time.
I will be going to trading standards over this, its absolutely pathetic and my ties with Samsung products is now severed. I will not be giving them another penny.0 -
I sent my £100 cashback claim in Sept 2012 -having followed all the instructions clearly. They emailed to confirm receipt a few weeks later. I heard nothing for weeks and tried to contact them a few times but always received an automated response instead, which doesn't really tell you much. Then I received an email in December stating that I had not sent the documents in time and it had expired. Fortunately I have proof of postage and kept all the emails etc. I went on to their website and put in my claim number, where surprise, surprise, it said my claim has been successfully processed! I have tried to contact their 0843 number as advised and no matter what time of day I call, I'm always number 9 or 10 in the queue. Once I managed to get to number 1 in the Q but a recorded message said that they were unable to take my call - after holding for half an hour. I think the cashback will be useful for my phone bill!
I will be reporting them to Which?, Martin Lewis and BBC Watchdog or trading standards as I seriously smell a rat...... shame on Samsung....... £100 might not be a lot to them, but it is to me.0 -
I'm in the same boat - no confirmation e-mail, so I can't check online. I called them up, sat in a very long queue only to get a recorded message cutting me off as soon as I reached the front of the queue.
Opia Ltd do seem to be some kind of cowboy outfit, but the blame still lies with Samsung as it is Samsung who have chosen Opia to represent their company.
In contrast I've used Canons cashback a couple of times recently and in both cases my claims have been validated the same day, with full tracking so I can check on progress.I received a cheque from Opia Limited for my Samsung cashback and now our bank has returned it saying that the payment has been stopped. Has anyone else experienced this? How to deal with it?
That is particularly worrying - it looks like Opia have money problems. I really think that this needs to be covered by Watchdog and reported to trading standards. These are widely advertised deals, so the number of people affected must be very high.0 -
I agree, watchdog should look into it!! I bought at the beginning of November a Samsung tablet 7" with the promise of £30 cashback and a free 8GB SD card. On the 22 of december the Sd card arrived but up to now no sign of money. I filled the form online and never got the online email confirmation. I have tried to contact them via mail/telephone, but no joy at the moment.....Please help, £30 might not much for them but a lot for me!0

Has anyone contacted watchdog about it? Unless they get lots of people contacting them nothing will happen!0
