Spotted this the other day http://www.247consoles.com/news#1201 once again it would be silly to put on the main board this early! Just putting a link here so I will remember to put it up sometime closer to Christmas!
For the 12 Days of Christmas, we will be running 1 competition per day, for 12 days!
If you answer the days question and are chosen as the winner, you then have to choose a box, 'Guilty' or 'Not Guilty'. (It's like deal or no deal vs Red or Black vs a random selection process to choose you in the first place).
In other words, there is one CRAP PRIZE vs A GOOD Prize!

Hence it's 50/50 Guilty or not guilty!
The Good prizes get better over the 12 days and so do the bad..
Trust, you won't want the early bad prizes, but we will be posting them given half a chance, just so your fingerprints are on the stolen cheap item lol!

Can we keep this thread nice and friendly please, its meant to be our Christmas thread, so should be joy and goodwill to all mankind, xxx

Chelsea, I didn't mean any of my posts to offend you and if they have I am truly sorry. My first post was to offer an alternative view and to explain why the Advent thread occurs. My second post was because I thought you didn't fully understand what/where links were or how they were meant to be posted so I was trying to explain things for you.

Sometimes it hard to see that someone is trying to help, when its the written word. All of our comps posters are really valued, and without people posting comps we would have no comps board ((((((((((())))))))))
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

You haven't got anything to be sorry for Mamzie ,nothing you have said has offended me at all ,you were not calling me selfish or judging me and being nothing short of rude or doing your upmost to push me of the board ,so you have no need to apologise .I will not add any more to the thread as enough has been said already and I have certainly been put in my place and forced out by those that know best .

    Hi

can we get this thread back on topic please :)

Chelsea - I'm sorry you won't be posting any more comps here but thanks for all your input into the board in the past :T

MSE comps board has evolved and changed and most of the 'rules' are unwritten ones to help make comping easier and more fun for all
pointing out dupes is helpful for everyone and the sooner the dupe is merged with the original the better, so the person who spots it usually pm's a BG and posts on the thread that they've done so, it's not the law just the way things are here, for anyone not sure how to do so just copy the url of the thread and paste it into a pm to one of the BGs (all listed at the bottom of the Comp board main page) we'll do the rest :) even better if you can copy and paste the url of the original into the pm too

the advent thread isn't just to have a list of all advent comps in one place it's a fun seasonal thread that gets a lot of people into the Xmas spirit :D if you didn't post links to the comps you post in it someone else soon would, most people want as many people as possible to see a comp they've found but if you are so totally against this type of thread no one can make you post links on it
however as you are stopping posting comps on MSE that's all irrelevant now, so as I said above can we get this thread back on topic :) there's a discussion thread for off topic posts or it can be done by pm

(I've been trying to avoid this thread as the C word should not be mentioned in September!!! ;))

  • i usualy make a folder in my favs with all the advent comps direct links so can do them all in one go each day... have a feeling there are gonna waaaayyyyy more this year :/ and if people are stopping posting , fine stop posting but can it all just be sorted out with a board guide or through PM's please?.... unless ofcourse the intention is to get everyone else to throw their twopence in?>??????
I can only please one person a day.... Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either!!
very greatful for almost everything i read on MSE (except for the nasties!)
  • This will be my first christmas entering competitions so please bare with me :o but am i right in thinking that a competition that runs for a period of time during december say 12 days before christmas it will be posted here? If this is the case will be also be posted to dailies or will it just be posted on the main board and on here?

Hi, Mrs Egg, welcome to MSE and hope you have fun here!
ALL comps will be posted on the Main Board and a link will either be put here by the person that posts it or by another MSE user.
FNC will then transfer the details to the front page in the relevant bit.

It's not likely to be in Dailies as well as it will be a Xmas/Advent comp.
I did it for the first time last year and it is lots of fun - and lots of hard work to keep up..
Have a look at last years Advent thread to what you're letting yourself in for.

    Any wins are a bonus!
    :T:T
Thanks to those that post the comps!!
    :j:beer:
  • Thanks Soosieboo for clearing that up for me and the warm welcome! I think i am going to have to cut out sleeping in decemeber to make enough time for all the compeitions :D
