Sorry nothing against you and its great that you are willing to put the time in and make the effort to do this for those that will be comfortable with it being done this way,I won't be changing or doing any more than to post on the main board because I don't agree with the dailies thread ,i think its very unfair and im sure this will be very similar.I know my view won't be popular but rather just carry on and not explain why could potentially be less popular . There are many comps that those who don't use dailies or can't bookmark or are new will never be able to access unless they go hunting on the main board or if they are new and don't know about certain comps will never find ,whereas if there was no daily thread then they would be bumped more reguarly on the main board and not forgotten about after the first time of entering.I know this must have been decided was the best way and I have no qualms about that, just that i won't be participating or helping in any way ,I will just post as usual and then if someone wants to put a link wherever then thats fine im not going to argue with it ,but I can't do anything that helps something that I don't see as fair . Hopefully im not going to cause any problems with anyone over this ,just thought it was best I explained why rather than just to ignore and carry on :)

Sorry, no offence but I disagree, thats more down to people learning how to comp for themselves, and use a method that suits them...

I very rarely see bumped threads as I keep the board sorted in End date view, so bumping does nothing for me. But the title tags are a huge help if i wanted to run a search for one kind.

huge thanks for taking on this mammoth task fnc63,

Merry Christmas and Good Luck Everyone, xxx
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx

Well obviously everyone has there own way so we won't all agree ,I am merely saying that I personally won't be contributing to something I disagree with ,not that anyone is right or wrong.

There is a slight difference with this one though :) This is stickied onto the main board so it will always be on top, no-one will miss it :)

I can understand all views with regard to daily's, but I do feel this is an exception. The sheer amount of advents would constantly clog up the boards if they were bumped every day, there are literally hundreds every year. I believe this is a good way of them being organised & keeping the boards relatively free for other competitions :)

I can say, that if there wasn't a thread specifically for advents then I would NEVER be able to keep up. With the sticky I can at least try to ;)

Here's to losing hours & hours on the run up to Xmas ;)

Good luck to everyone & thanks for the post x
    :) xx JoJo xx :)

:heart2: And only now I see the light...

We're really, REALLY sorry to announce this but unfortunately Facebook aren't allowing us to continue our promotion as it apparently violates their terms of usage. This majorly sucks!! We can reassure you that we're working with Facebook to sort out a way to carry on running giveaways. Until then, we're offering FREE UK SHIPPING for the next week as our way of apologizing to everyone!

    :o[/STRIKE]

    Never mind ;)
    Thanks to all posters :A

  • WOW! just looking at this layout has got me all excited! Only comping since May so am looking forward to this new advent experience lol!
Hope you don't mind me adding my 2pennies worth in but from my view as a newbie, it is amazing how much effort seems to go into the running of this site and posting of comps. You can't please everyone and i guess all you can do is post in the way that you yourself feels works best.
I was dumbfounded by the dailies thread to start with but found a way that works for me. every now and then i pop in and have a look to see which ones i may have missed, try some out and note down (on paper) the ones i like to enter then either save the link to my favourites or in case of glamour etc simply type into google. I'm happier having my own little 'check list' and will prob do the same method for advent (once i figure out the thread!).I have done well from the dailies so i's obviously working for me! I guess what i'm saying is that if you are interested in doing the dailies or advents for that matter, you will find a way to seek them out! I'm not great at navigating sites but everyone does an amazing job on here...and there's always a place to ask if i need help with a query or finding something :-) so thankyou for all the comps and updates...wherever they may be found!
  • Looks like there is going to be an advent comp here: http://christmas.partyatthepub.co.uk/grab-a-gift-registration/ you can only sign up to be notified when it starts (24th November) at the moment. I thought I'd put it here for now as it would be insane to put it on the main board this early, I'll do that nearer the time.

I got the info from here: http://www.eatoutmagazine.co.uk/online_article/Barracuda%E2%80%99s-launches-a-%E2%80%98Grab-a-Gift%E2%80%99-Christmas-competition/14454
Christmas has come early for customers of the Barracuda Group as the pub operator goes live with its ‘Grab a Gift’ campaign, giving away £6000 worth of prizes to those who register.

The competition is in the form of a Christmas Advent calendar which directs customers to Barracuda's booking website: http://christmas.partyatthepub.co.uk/grab-a-gift-registration/.

From 24th November, those who sign up to Grab a Gift will have the chance to win up to £250 worth of prizes each day, ranging from iPods and digital cameras to tickets for a West End show. Each window on the calendar will reveal a prize that has been sponsored by a drinks supplier to Barracuda.

Simon Gaske, sales & digital marketing manager, for Barracuda Pub Group said: "In the run up to Christmas we wanted to reward and engage with our customers in a way that it is fun and interactive, in addition to generating website traffic and awareness for the brands that we are in partnership with. We've worked closely with our partners, from Diageo to Kopparberg, to deliver enticing prizes on the Christmas Advent calendar.

"Each window on the calendar will reveal the prize donated by the sponsor and what the call to action is for our customers in order to redeem the prize. For example, under one calendar window, we'll be asking our customers to post a picture of themselves enjoying a Smirnoff Ice in a Barracuda pub via Facebook. The customer that gets the most creative wins the prize."
