I first started comping last christmas and I adored it! I enter a comp here and there if one takes my fancy but I won the most during christmas. The local comps were the best, not many entrants down my way(too busy wallowing!) so I won quite a few! Thank you guys for the work you do, I do try and post comps when I see them but 9/10 times they've already been posted

(I will put these on the main boards come the time, its just useful to have then stored on a thread so I remember nearer the time - sorry for bumping and people thinking there may be a early comp starting)

I really don't understand how another link to a comp thats on the main board is going to harm anyone...it's basically a todolist toremind us to go to the main thread and not miss any instead of relying on memory or searching ...trust me that's impossible at Xmas and Advent as anyone will tell you from past years is THE best time for us compers...payday.

Another really good reason for this thread is the social networking comps which are going to make up a massive chunk this year ~(as I predicted but yet again some diehards don't seem to want to bother with for some reason lol). FAcebook and twitter comps are often over in hours, on the main board you could find them just after they end...and that happens every day as it is now anyway on here with no social network list.

The daily,advent and other threads are reminder lists...very few aren't also on the main board too...so they can't possibly do any harm to anyone.

I have a big list of where and who ran good comps last year at Xmas, some really good ones hardly have comps any other time so I'll makean effort to post them when they do.

I don't think we have a clue how busy this year is going to be, if you only started this year comping...you're gonna be really busy and love it Last year it took hours just to do the Advents and a few good dailies....and that was being selective. IF you imagine doing all the dailiesand all the monthlies every day that's about what last year was like....for about 6 weeks )

When I get time I'll list as many of the advents I have stored that have run for the past 2 years on a facebook note, make it easy to check them. I got sensible last year later on and made a bookmarks folder with just advents,considering a lot of them are just click a door jobbies it saves a lot of time just opening that folder in tabs ...then checking here for any new stuff.

The very start of these often gets missed, that's got to be the best time to get good odds of winning with less entries

I wonder if Thorntons will do another advent comp? I won a years supply of choc when they done it last but Im sure that was a good couple of years ago, that was my first ever win!!

I don't usually do the dailies. I was expecting to find the Advent comps in this thread, but I can't see them anywhere. I see the "post 3 - facebook n-z" or whatever, but I can't find the actual comps. That is, if they've started/been announced yet? Maybe they haven't and I'm getting my wires crossed, if so, sorry! (I realise it isnt yet advent, but last year some started very early indeed)

could someone point me in the right direction if they are out there please?
