Since 5th Nov, I have not made any credit card transactions on any card

It seems that correct transactions on the new Barclaycard are triggering these messages.

Apologies, I withdraw this comment. Looks like my ADSL service provider charged my old Egg card today - so the messages from Barclaycard were correct.

Sorry, Barclaycard - complaint withdrawn :rotfl:

Polite and concise email to CEO with a neatly numbered list of issues -> all sorted within a day by the exec office -> they're also crediting £50 to my account to apologise for the inconvenience (the main issue was my card not working!) -> me happy bunny :D

Edit: £50 goodwill payment now indeed showing in my recent transactions... Will maximise that by going to my nearest Boots event thing today where spending the £50 will give me an extra £12 in advantage points :rotfl:

Or you could donate £50 to a good charity. :)

Surely they're clever enough to know that Egg card transactions initiated over the 2 or 3 days prior to Nov 7th may not hit their systems for a few days after the "changover" date..!

A payment I made on the 4th went through to Egg not BC so have a zero balance. Happy with that as I don't intend to use the BCard.

    On twitter there is @barclaycardnews

On here whenever someone asks a question, they say to email them at WR@barclaycard.co.uk

    http://twitter.com/#!/barclaycardnews

Using this method seems to get results.

They have till the end of the year to come across with a good offer

Click and thy shall (or might!) find.

Ever the optimist, after nothing being there every time I've clicked, there's an offer of 0% until May 2012.

    2.9% fee.

Finally online account is working this morning with both mastercard and visa card showing, along with history from both accounts.

Next test will be when DD comes out, but that's not until end of the month.

One thing I have noticed it transactions take a very long time to show up on the website. With Egg i am sure the showed up within 1 to 2 days, but on the BarclayCard site it says "Pending Transactions £x.xx" but it doesn't actually show what the transactions are which is annoying.

I tried the card out on Monday night. The pending transaction was noted straight away (although not the fact that it was ASDA), and it actually appeared as a transaction on Wednesday morning.

With Egg I never had this information, or if I did it wasn't clear.

Is there a card out there that tells you who your pending transactions are with? As I understand it the system simply authorises a payment in principle, deducts the balance from your available funds but doesn't identify the acquirer until the transaction is put through.

It partially depends on how quickly the person you're paying seeks funds from Barclaycard, as well. In ASDA's case I suspect that my 8pm purchase was included in Tuesday's run and therefore properly debited on Wednesday morning.

To me the Barclaycard site is 21st century compared to the archaic Egg one. Payment systems are better as well. On another account I paid £200 by debit card at 8am, and it was showing as a proper credit within 12 hours. With Egg it would have taken until two days later to show up.
