I want to return a few things I bought last week on my old egg card, how do I get a refund now? Will the old egg card work or will I have to explian in the shop to refund a different card from the one I paid with. I hate Barclaycard with a real passion I don't even like the colour of the card!! Bring back Egg

I need to do the same thing, I assume as it is still the same account they will be able to process the refund, else I'll be asking for cash. Credit cards expire all the time so shops must be able to manage overlaps.

So far B'Card are challenging Santander for issues in transitions.

As well as getting kicked out when trying to view recent transactions, having a wife born on 1 January 1810 and allegedly not having paid off last months balance in full on 1st November, I have another issue which I haven't seen mentioned above.

Our wives share the same birthday, and we both seem to have the same late payment habits!

My Egg direct dedits were taken on the 1st of the month (or later if not a working day or the previous calendar month was less than 31 days). The bumph BC put out said explicitly that one's payment date shouldn't change. Yet my next payment date is now shown as 30th November - a day too early.

Well spotted - mine are normally on the 6th (or later if not a working day) but my next payment date is showing as the 5th December so a day early too (incidentally the 5th is a Saturday...)

My account failed to link automatically, so I now have two logins.
The payment date has moved earlier, from the 1st of the month to the 30th of the month.
    Recent transactions can't be reached.
The running total of cashback doesn't include the current month.
It says I've missed my payment.

I haven't tried the card itself today yet, but yesterday I wasn't able to change the PIN as the machine did not recognise my card.

Any chance of the Barclays rep coming on here to answer all of the questions do you think ? :(

I finally got a reply to my online message.

I'm told that (contrary to what we were originally told) I will after all have to create a new login by clicking the 'Launch your new account' button, then reply to their email with my account number, whereupon (presumably after another day or two) they will link the new account with my old one in some, as yet unspecified, way. Hopefully on my old login.

Sounds as though it's all gone pearshaped behind the scenes.

I feel really sorry for the poor sods in the call centre... They must be having a terrible time trying to sort stuff out, and it's not like they're the ones responsible for the mess - whoever is in charge of the accounts migration should go and hide in a cave for the next 10 years :rotfl:

else I'll be asking for cash

You will be unlikely to get cash as the retailers wants the CC charge refunded, but if it's the same account I don't see the issue.
    Cards expire all the time.

That's why I haven't even bothered to call them. They are probably inundated and won't have the power to fix anything anyway.

I think it's just going to a matter of time. My account is still in the same state it was yesterday; working apart from I cannot see recent transactions, either debits or credits. A current balance is showing but I don't know how it was calculated. I was able to change my PIN last night but I haven't tried using the new card yet.

I made a £500 purchase on my Egg card on Saturday. If that has vanished into the ether then I won't be too upset :)

That's why I've emailed the CEO... My card doesn't work - not in the shops (pin ok though I haven't tried to change it), not online, and I can't set up Barclaycard Secure (details not recognised error message), I also have the seemingly common problems of the DD coming out my current account but not showing on mybarclaycard, the system chucking me out when trying to view recent transactions, etc.

Not happy and not impressed is an understatement but at least I now have the name and email address of the person who is looking I into it so hopefully they will sort it out reasonably quickly.
