I didn't manage to read all posts, but I'm a little confused. I've had a standard egg card for years.

To my surprise I have just discovered that I have been paying £16:56 for 'Credit Card Repayment Protector'. Is this the same thing as PPI?

My next question is - Does he transfer to barclaycard mean I won't be able to make a claim to egg or barclaycard?
  • Successfully registered for mybarclaycard.

    Unfortunately there's a message
You have failed to make a minimum payment
Oh dear. That's not off to a good start as I have a DD set up for the full payment each month and my bank reckons it was successfully paid on 1 November. Lack of communications between Egg & BC?
Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

  • it works!!!! just registered!!

Does anyone know if we can now receive paper statements (instead of the online paperless ones we were restricted to with Egg) ?

The option to revert from online statements to paper ones seems to have been removed from Barclay's website for Egg customers.

I guess they are just following the same policies as Egg did in this regard (which we agreed too).

However, this page appears to suggest that they might accept a message to put you on paper statements..

Just registered and played around with the Barclay's website - lots of options there which will take some time to explore!

Have to say, I am a bit shocked/disappointed though to find that when I logged in the second time and it asks for characters from my new 'memorable word' that it displays my 'memorable word reminder' by default!

Also, you may want to check the contact details against your account. Barclays had recorded the mobile number I had registered with Egg as my home telephone number - with no trace of my 'actual' home number.

I was also supposed to get an automatic email confirming that I had registered but its been an hour yet and nothing - don't know if its just Barclaycard being slow/overloaded atm but I would be interested in the experiences of others.

    Regards

Register one and the other card will automatically appear under the same login.

All registered (odd though that my memorable word has to be not memorable just less than 8 letters which it seems none of mine are!)

Bye Egg it has been a fun ride let us see how long it takes Barclays to p*ss me off this time :)
I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.

So I log in and my new card isn't showing, well imagine my surprise.

So I register again, no problem. I need a different username, but their silly restrictions mean I can't use my normal username anyway.

So now I'm looking at my new account and lo and behold my cashback has been multiplied by 100.

Sadly this went away when I logged out and logged in again, after a happy 5 minutes trying to figure out a way to get hold of the cash.
