Egg to Barclaycard Transition Update

Anyone else tempted to go out and buy something really expensive on their egg card today incase the transaction got lost in the ether!?

Incidentally; not sure if anybody else had noticed but Egg card authorisation seemed to be taking much longer over the last few weeks so I do wonder if behind the scenes 99% of the process has actually been transferred to Barclaycard systems already, and Egg were just "presenting" it which would make sense from a systems integration point of view.

Midnight tonight the presentation is simply handed over from Egg to Barclaycard who are already managing the accounts and have been for a few weeks now.

Those who already hold a Barclaycard in addition to EGG will be able to see their EGG account via mybarclaycard now (Sunday)

presumably the card can be used now - although I forgot where I put mine)

Only my existing Barclaycard is showing - The new Egg replacement isn't yet - I'll check again in the morning...

I tried 2 hours ago, and there was no Egg card on my account. Will try again tomorrow.

They may have added mine early in an attempt to discover my forum username :cool:

anyway a years worth of PDF statements are available (in barclaycard format) and the cash limit is the same as the credit limit

EGG cardholders without existing Barclaycards may wish to attempt to register now to avoid the rush tomorrow

Still no Egg card appearance in my existing mybarclaycard account. Looks like I'll be waiting till morning.

OHs Egg card has been rejected in Australia since he got there on Thursday. Either the authorisation is timing out or its been rejected because it is untypical use.
