The OP is asking for confirmation they will get a final bill when their contract ends so they can make a claim.
Vodafone do advance billing - a month ahead. From memory vodafone send out a final bill even if it is for zero amount.
The problem then does not arise where someone falls foul of cashback terms - if someone wanted to ensure they got a bill, all they need to do is make a single chargeable call for a second or two in the final 30 days. This I suggested about 200 years ago in this thread.
Talking of legal actions is premature, I have not heard anyone come on here and say they have been denied cashback on basis they did not get a final bill.0 -
I got a response to my e-mail....
(Purchased September) And need to send bill dates of months:
March 2012
May 2012
July 2012
September 2012
OAD, look at Eildor's reply - which I believe is 100% correct.
He will be billed in Sept 2011 which will be Sept-Oct up front. The final bill needed will be Sept-Oct (2012), again paid up front. His Aug 2012 bill will be the bill showing his anniversary date (Mobiles.co.uk don't want that one). Mobiles.co.uk want his Sept bill showing no arrears etc, but Eildor will have to pay for a full month and claim back any unused usuage down to porting or cancelling etc. I would ask for my PAC and port ASAP after the last bill has been created - needs to work out when to ask for pack (obviously has to port within 30 day).

I do not see a problem here - the final bill will be there and it will be the right bill as long as it is on the same tariff which is always given on bills (same tariff from beginning to end).
When the OP gets to 30 days prior to end of contract, all they need to do is ask for contract to expire on contract end date or ask for it transfer to pay and go or PAC out as you say immediately when the bill has been produced (but getting the PAC code 30 days prior to contract end date).
I am pretty sure (from having contracts with vodafone before), they supply a final bill, any credits due to the customer are automatically sent back - the customer usually has to do nothing.
The reason I suggest making a chargeable call is simply to make sure they get a final bill as a guarantee.
Aside - a recent contract I had with O2 ended and I had to go to their web site to get 70p credited back through an online form request - vodafone do that automatically.0 -
Thanks for that reply OAD.
I understand that a final bill could be classed as zero to pay and still show no arrears etc, but not too sure if there will be a final bill sent out in every case. Thanks for highlighting Vodafone. I assume/d (probably wrongly) that there wouldn't be a final bill for no usuage (if there was none outside of tariff overdue amount).
I'll still stick to what I'm doing and claim the money back as I'm comfortable with it - but maybe this is what mj (posts #24 and 30) does and sometimes has to argue the case??

I can remember getting final bills from Vodafone which had zero amount to pay. My bro had a vodafone contract which ended in Nov 2010 and he had some sort of credit back to his bank.
But the way I have always played it (with any retailer or network where I have had a cashback deal) is to ensure I get the contract ended on time. And just for good measure, make a single 1-2 second chargeable call to get the bill I need for the cashback in a particular month at end of contract.
If I get charged a couple of pennies for going a day or two beyond the contract end date, that is ok - where I would complain is when a network charges a whole line month rental which happened as I mentioned earlier in this thread with T-mobile. But I got my dosh back after phoning to fuss.0 -
Why can't they just make it simple...0

It would be best if mobiles.co.uk advised customers to put the first month of contract into first row of an Excel spreadsheet and rolling it to the 24th row. My Orange bills me a month in advance.
I think the current Ts&Cs is stills suggesting customers submit one month late cash-back claim. For example, if I started in March, I should really be required to submit the August bill rather than the September bill as following their email of cash-back claim instruction.0 -
I believe mobiles.co.uk have updated their cashback chart thing. I now read at the bottom:
The month you purchased your handset will be month 'Zero'. Month 'One' is your first full billed month. So for example, if you ordered your handset in January and need to claim in month 6, we will need your July bill.
* If you choose to end your contract on the 12th month, please submit your final bill from your network provider in order to recieve your last payment from mobiles.co.uk.
** If you choose to end your contract on the 18th month, please submit your final bill from your network provider in order to recieve your last payment from mobiles.co.uk.
Doesn't clear up the matter though to be honest, still confusing.0 -
It has solved one issue (the final bill) but not the other. Typical of cpw that they continue to muddy the waters when they were crystal clear originally. As I said, there is only one reason they would do that...0

Sent them an email a couple of days ago about the final bill and leaving a contract in final month - did not get reply. Also sent an email to CPW CEO yesterday about this. Will have to ring to confirm.
The additional wording is good but could be better if it read "If you choose to end your contract IN the 12th month" rather than "ON".0
