Well if thats the case I suppose it's livable with ....though you shouldn't have to be forced to do it of course ;)

It makes you wonder if mobiles.co.uk would benefit from a contract running beyond the minimum term with the new tactics they seem to have thought of ???

It would need to over-run the bundle date start in September 2012 (different from the billing date with them nowadays - or else the extra 5 days won't matter.

In order to avoid future boredom (apart from the enormous waste of time) it would be wise to work the t&c out before you order. Follow the groundrules and you can avoid all the pitfalls and the bad advice which is prevalent from some diehards.

Silk is of course quite correct; anything anyone (including "Ben") says on here counts as nought - as do changed t&c on their website after the event. You live and die by what you agree to at the point you so do - as do they. If you understand the t&c and comply you can hold them to it - but that works both ways if you don't.

No Silk - it's not about over-running; it's about confusing the punters (unless you are one of those who is determined to justify their actions as incompetence - perhaps on the basis that, having made such a pig's ear of this more than once, they change things with a handful of words which they still can't even spell on their own website).

I wasn't going to post this, but what the heck.

With the T&C's as they are at present and if you're not too comfortable with them, then look for 24 month contracts.
All cashback claimed with 18 months bills and no messing about with when to end a contract and relying on final cashback. All that's needed is to get the 1st one right, then every three months.

For 12 and 18 months contracts, e2save/osps may be a better option - until Mobiles.co.uk get their act together, or will they??

I've/we've got 3 contract with them at present (all 18 months) and no concerns what-so-ever.

Thinking about it, I think the "confusion" created could be to push others into less favourable "auto cashback" deals.

  • Whilst that has obvious advantages I intend taking advantage of in the not too distant future it still doesn't address the contradiction in the t&c as to which bills are required for earlier claims. The question is, WHY are they creating confusion (actually, contradictions) where crystal clarity existed before? THAT alone should make people wary of them.

Where can I make a complaint? I've had enough now.

Waste of time apathy goes all the way to the top I'm afraid ;)

I was offered apologies and explanations from service managers ..never happened
I phoned CPW no one rang back and wrote to CPW no replies ;)

Poor CS and staff isn't a crime, the best you can hope for is the insincere apology you may get from Ben apologising for your experiance so far.

The best you can do is stay on top of things and hope you don't get screwed.

This is getting boring now... I'll just inform Vodafone of cancellation 25 days before the contract ends instead of 30. At least that way I will (apparently...) receive a final bill. Since the cashback is £80 odd I can't afford to mess around.

But I'd rather mobiles.co.uk give a proper solution which is going to convince me that I should use them again in the future.

Eildor, the assumption is you will be taking out a new contract once this 12 month deal is up?? Take out a contract with another network, say T-Mobile.
All you need to do, if that is the case, is to ask for your PAC and make sure you port slightly after your Sept. bill will be produced. You will be billed for the full month (Sept - Oct 2012), but will get a refund on the days owed.

Post you billing dates and we can advise when to ask for your PAC and when to port. You can still take out a new contract next Aug if you want, then it will already be in place.

Stick to your March, May, July, September bills for redemption purposes.

    Dear Mr *****,

    Thank you for your reply,

You will be issued a bill in September, as this month will be your full 12th contractual month. We would not advise the submission of a bill which would not be sent to you.

This bill is often referred to as the final or closing bill and networks despatch these upon completion of the contract.

The relevant bills must be submitted within 60 days of the bill date, I apologise for any misleading information provided.

If I end my contract after 12 months (or 1 or 2 days after) will I or will I not receive a 13th and final bill? I will not be porting my number, or anything like that. The above e-mail I received from mobiles.co.uk seems to suggest I will...

Whenever you end the contract, you should get a final bill (network dependent maybe but vodafone definintely send out a final bill).

The thing to be vary of with going into extra couple of days beyond the 12/18/24 month period is that you could end up paying a full extra month line rental. Mentioned this happening to me with a contract with T-mobile - but I don't think vodafone do that - check with vodafone t&c.

Oh and another issue - a final bill could be issued upto 14 days after a contract ends - which would end up being in the next month depending on the day of month when the contract ends.

With a contract ending in next month for me, I have been told I need to submit 17th and 18th month (or final bill) to be claim my final cashback. So worth keeping all your bills.
