If I end my contract after 12 months (or 1 or 2 days after) will I or will I not receive a 13th and final bill? I will not be porting my number, or anything like that. The above e-mail I received from mobiles.co.uk seems to suggest I will...
OK; ignpore all the WRONG information you've been given.
If you have a 12 month contract which commenced before the bundle date in September you will NOT get a final bill next September with Vodafone unless you exceed your pro-rata bundle that month or carry on with the contract beyond the bundle date that month. If it commenced after the bundle date in September you will get a September bill one year later. In this scenario you wouldn't have received a bill in the first September. Simples. This isn't "I think..." - this is how it is. I had one ending THIS month and on THAT contract (I have several with them) - NO final bill (as USUAL).
If you're happy to pay more than you agreed to in your contract and exceed your bundle in the final period you would get a September bill at the end. I never do that - I don't see why I should.
If Mobiles.co have made it impossible for you to claim the final cashback by unfair t&c (as is plainly the case here if you had a bill this September on a 12 month contract) you can easily sue them if they refuse to accept the August 2012 bill.
Again, IF you set a contract up correctly in the first place (I've done two with them so far this month) the issue doesn't arise. Wonder why they've made it so slippery for the innocent??0 -
All this contradictory information is just doing my head in.
If instead of giving notice 30 days before the end of the contract I were to give notice 29 days before then I will be ending my contract a day later than the contracted 12 months. This should be sufficient in forcing Vodafone to have to send me another bill in September right?0 -

You get a final bill with vodafone - if you do not get it, then submit the 11th bill as your claim - and worry about the rest when you are closer to the time. Do your first 3 cashbacks on time and worry about the last one when you are nearing the end.
The time to give notice is always 30 days prior to end of contract with any network if you do not want to be charged a little bit extra. If you wanted to keep that number, you would get a PAC code and use that PAC code within 30 days.0 -
Hello Mr. *****,
Thank you for writing to Vodafone Customer Services.
I have checked your account and can confirm that the contract for the subscription number *********** ends on 10/09/2012. This is a 12 month contract.
If you give 30 day notice before the end of the contract you need to contact us 11/08/2012 with the 30 day notice for the cancellation and we will schedule your account to be cancelled on 10/09/2012.
Once we schedule your account for cancellation you will receive a final bill for your Pay Monthly contract as per your billing cycle after your services are cancelled with Vodafone. Your billing cycle is 12th to 11th of each month. You will receive final bill for the month of September by 15th of September, 2012.
I trust this information is helpful.
Kind regards,

Vodafone often say one thing and do another. In my case - this month - there was no final bill. Vodafone charge a month in advance pro rata - some networks charge the full monh and credit back the excess (on a final bill - that is the only point of one, unless you have exceeded your allowance).
Extending the contract by one day would take it to 11th; that is still a day before the billing cycle (that is assuming they mean bundle date - bills with them nowadays are produced a few days after the bundle date).
If you are happy to believe Vodafone and the incorrect information given previously, you can. After all, there is no reason to believe me - apart from the fact that I currently have 4 Vodafone contracts (which is typical and I never go past the contract date), have just received bills for all my contracts (except the one which ended earlier this month) and I rarely get things wrong (unlike those offering contradictory information - including Vodafone!).
At the end of the day it's your money, not ours - so you have to chart your own course through the mire this dealer has created for you.0 -

When would you suggest I give notice then in order to force a September bill?0 -
Am I missing the point here?
You have an email from Vodafone stating when your final bill will be.
Keep this. Attach it to the bill when you get it and send that to mobiles.co.uk to claim your final cashback.
As an alternative, if you really want belt and braces, do as suggested and make one 10p call just before your contract end to ensure that you get a further bill with that charge on it. If your September bill is rejected, then just send that one.
You don't need a huge IQ to cover yourself both ways or to lose any more sleep over it.0 -

Guess I am going to have to do that... just not happy with the ambiguity of it all.0 -
I think you have to remember here that the cashback/redemption is NOT from Vodafone, but from Mobiles.co.uk. The T&C's when taking out will require a Sept bill and according to Eildors post will be from Sept 12th - Oct 11th. So his 12 months is up on Sept 10th, but his bill needed is from after his 12 month contract on Sept 12. This is where Mobiles.co.uk's T&C and e2save/osps differ and why Mobiles.co.uk should bring in line their T&C's to match. With both e2save/osps contracts the bill showing you have paid up the full 12 months/18 months would be one month earlier. He will have to go into the 13th month to create a Sept bill or to have at least have a charge outside the allowance to create a bill. I would simply port out on or around 12th/13th Sept 2012 (having asked for PAC 30 days earlier to suit), even if it needs to go over a little, depending on when PAC asked, it should cost less than £5 once the unused Sept 12 - Oct 11th line rental has been claimed back. Not too much hassle really for what is probably a great deal. Next time use e2save/osps for deals of 18 months and under to save stress.
Hopefully Eildor has already gone via TCB etc and will save on postage costs using the online claim method.
