Not true. I have no doubt that such fares exist. If you can and are happy to take advantage then good luck to you.
However I need to take hold luggage, and I don't want to fly to some of the far flung/ obscure destinations.Ryanair is not family friendly. Light travelling couples and singles are who can take get these fares.
To answer you question where I do fly to . Our last flight was Alicante. Pricing up Via various sites : Ryanair came out cheapest, until you factor in hold luggage and car seats and pushchairs. Then the difference was not that much. Monarch got our custom and a very pleasant hassle free journey it was as well.
Other example : Cork . I choose Aer lingus for £10 extra . worth every penny.
Could not care less about uniforms or in flight meals. But I do have a problem with being treated with contempt . And how Ryanair treat their staff.
I would also never buy a Silentnight bed ...no matter how cheap. I also do not shop at Asda/ Walmart. Or buy clothes from Primark.
Not true Im afraid. Your assuming Im part of a light travelling couple or single when in fact one of the reasons why RA has worked out so well for me is that since my daughter was born I could take her back and forth to Dublin as often as I liked with pushchair and the usual assortment of stuff you take for a child, again for pennies and I have never needed to check in luggage or buggies, and now she is five she loves travelling and picking up new words she learns in different countries.
I dont know why everybody thinks RA flies to obscure places. Yes it does have some on its route but this year for the second time I went to krakow and the city was a short train ride away. Ive never had a problem getting to any city from a Ryanair flight. As soon as RA starts flying into an airport you will find transport links start to open up.
Before I booked my usual Ryanir flight to Dublin next month I checked Aer Lingus and I went from a free flight to over £100 in charges, it beggars belief.0 -
Joking aside , I just do not see why cannot treat your customers and staff right and have low fares. If they did that I would not be here posting , I might be looking to book a flight .
The 2 cannot be impossible to achieve .Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
Can we get back to talking about the flight attendants legs please (the girls that is)0

For me, the game changer was charging the EU levy for cancelled flights. With that, I expect them to provide the assistance they are charging the levy for.
However, nothing has changed. Flight cancelled, you are abandoned until the next bookable flight, which on some routes can be a week away, and have to battle for your costs incurred.
Yes, they still do have some really cheap flights, but IMO the balance is tipping. For many routes they just aren't "dirt cheap" anymore.0 -

But for some they are and for many they are the only direct option.

I'll 'self-insure' the flight part of the trip to pay 19 euro's instead of 509 euros.0 -

I fully agree but I won't lose sleep over it whilst MY flights average 10 Euros.
In the last year I've flow between New York to the West and New Zealand to the..... well via the east on many many many flights, all but 3 of which flights were low cost/budget carriers. On the 'full service airlines' I got a socket to plug my netbook in, crap movies (apart from the Yogi Bear movie) and some sort of food with Delta x2 and
no socket, some sort of food and crap movies on Jet Airways plus a poor drinks service.
Long live low cost/budget airlines.
Personally I'd rather have the choice to pay the levy and get the 'protection' or opt out (which I would) and cover myself and I'm sure St Michael wishes he could give me that choice.
434.45 GBP    18 months ago I got to Oz and back for less than that.0
