MSE News: Ryanair 'sticks two fingers up at passengers' with new card fees

I see! Well, maybe I've been lucky. Although once on my flight (I regularly fly Edinburgh-Brussels/Charleroi) they had the same problem and before boarding, they asked for volunteers to put their luggage in the hold (which they found very quickly).
Having said that, I don't need convincing that they don't give a damn!0 -
I am one of those people for a very simple reason. With Ryanair, almost everyone takes the maximum cabin luggage as possible. So, the space in overhead lockers is quickly taken up. If there is no space near to you, you will either have to put it in a locker 20 seats behind you or put it under your seat. If it won't fit, a Cabin crew member will take it off you and put it in the hold. If the bag/contents are damaged or stolen, you will not be covered by your travel insurance as valuables and electronics are supposed to be carried in hand baggage. And we all know that Ryanair will NOT offer a dime in compensation! So I would rather queue for 20-30 minutes then get my laptop smashed in the hold, and risk the prospect of arriving without any clothes.
In that unlikely event, take your laptop out of the bag and put that under the seat in front of you for take off and landing, or better still don't be at the back of the queue.0 -

Principles my @rse.....when reality bites with other airlines prices...........you will soon be back.......unless you have more money than sense?
I wouldn't bank on it. Life's a series of compromises. You balance cost against factors like customer service, safety, reputation, convenience and a host of other factors, then you make a decision.
A lot of us (as is very evident in this thread) would far rather pay a bit more to fly with another low cost carrier than use Ryanair, and there are very good reasons for that. And Ryanair isn't always as cheap as it pretends to be when you add on all the extras. It's often cheaper with another carrier.0 -

Ok lets go.........there is No question on ryanair's safety record,i am a customer and i have never been abused, refused,or even confused!
as for reputation, you get exactly what you pay for,no more,no less, and convenience works for me and 75 million other users.
Sure i compromise,no food no papers and no pillows and blankets, but leather seats, flights on time and they are cheapest without question 95% of the time.......others ARE NOT JUST A BIT MORE BUT MUCH MORE.......as for "a lot of us would rather pay more",that's a load of carp.....the amount of flights you take pale into insignificance as not to be relevent. Just ask regular fliers,we are not stupid and have NO alliegience to Ryanair just love the cheapest flights.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
The card is effectively free to buy and free to use on Ryanair flights, which is why most people have one anyway. I don't see what the big deal is, just order one when its available and carry on.0

More easily said than done. After ordering the card, how long will it take to arrive? After researching fares with different airlines and then choosing to book with Ryanair, will the customer receive the card and £6 voucher in time to pay for the flight before the fare goes up?
I'll try and use little words for you.
Most folks will get one in advance and keep it for all their flights0 -
