Vote with your wallets; if everyone stops flying with Ryanair they will be forced to mend their ways.

    Absolutely!!!!!!

I think hidden charges should be illegal. For proper, fair competition the price advertised should be the price paid for all companies. not just Airlines. For the complete but basic service that is; additional charges should if absolutely necessary be for options such as meals only.

Nobody presses the final buy button to part with their dosh without knowing the price, why is that such a difficult concept. If I see a car at £9999.00 I'm sure I'd have to pay a few extra's like road tax or £500 for the metalic green I fancy. But at least with Ryanair if it says £6 you CAN fly for £6. You might want extras but that's up to you, you can fly for the headline figure - I always do.

    Free Online Check in
    Depart:
    London-Stansted - 10:35
    Arrive:
    Rodez - 13:15
    1 x Adult 6.00 GBP

    Fare 6.00 GBP
    Taxes and Fees 0.00 GBP
    Online Check-In 0.00 GBP
    EU 261 Levy 0.00 GBP
    Sub Total 6.00 GBP
    Total Price 6.00 GBP

What is 'hidden' about the fare breakdown above shown on the Ryanair site.
You grab your 10kg bag pay with a pre-paid Mastercard and off you go for £6 TOTAL That's the advertised price - that's what you pay.
  • What about these charges

Extra bag charges when you pay at the airport.

    European Travel
UK Domestic After 1st bag Extra £35/$50/€45 PER BAG

    That's not Ryanair that's BA.

Or try booking a flight with BA If you choose to pay using a UK billed credit card or PayPal, you will incur a surcharge of £4.50 per passenger.

If you use the right plastic with Ryanair you will incur a surchare of ZILCH ! ZERO NOTHING

Like Ryanair, British Airways also waives the fee for passengers paying with the airline's own credit card. However, unlike Ryanair's card, there is no fee for BA's card and on the contrary, BA gives Avios points (previously BA Miles) for spending with it.

Yes but Ryanair will give you the fee back when their card comes out and at present you can use a Fairfx card which you can get totally free,
also how much use will Avios points be to 99.99% of people.

So how much interest am I losing at present keeping a maximum of £50 on a prepaid card? (Which is enough for 5-8 flights) what would I do with that vast amount of interest - pay a BA fuel surcharge, no it wouldn't be nearly enough for that.

You are assuming that the next batch of tickets you buy will be less than 50 quid.
What is the minimum top up allowed by Ryanair and how instant is it?
Beware of accidentally going a quid overdrawn.
[I'm not a regular user of Ryanair, but I would guess that most transactions are for more than only 2 tickets . I have a friend whose wife is from mainland Europe, their trips to her homeland are almost always into three figures for the 4 tickets]
