MSE News: Ryanair 'sticks two fingers up at passengers' with new card fees
Comments

It is disapointing when low yield routes are axed. All airlines make these commercial decisions.
BA have axed their daily LGW to Tunis flights this winter too. They and Ryanair are of course obliged to reroute any affected passengers.
Of course Easyjet and Cityjet both fell foul of the same French employment law and were also fined.
Ratner said his products were "Cheap !!!!". MO'L has NEVER talked down the product.
However the fact that he admits they may have to be "nicer" to meet their very ambitious expansion targets can only be good.
EDIT
Ironicaly see just posted

Just heard from Thomsons they cancelled my Flight from Doncaster, If i except the new Flight i am going to be £140 worse off, There are a number of issues i am not happy with, Anyone else ?0 -
So you book a Ryanair flight, Ryanair axes the flight because it's struggling to sell enough seats profitably, Ryanair refund you just the price you paid for the ticket and you're left with pre-booked hotels and a huge financial headache.
No thanks - I'll stick to airlines that have some respect for the law and behave responsibly towards their customers rather than just hating them.
I had that happen to me with British Airways but not Ryanair.0 -

If they just refund you they are in breach of EU regulation EC261/2004 http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=CELEX:32004R0261:EN:HTML
Article 5 and 8
Article 5
Cancellation
1. In case of cancellation of a flight, the passengers concerned shall:
(a) be offered assistance by the operating air carrier in accordance with Article 8; ...
Article 8
Right to reimbursement or re-routing
1. Where reference is made to this Article, passengers shall be offered the choice between:
(a) - reimbursement within seven days, by the means provided for in Article 7(3), of the full cost of the ticket at the price at which it was bought, for the part or parts of the journey not made, and for the part or parts already made if the flight is no longer serving any purpose in relation to the passenger's original travel plan, together with, when relevant,
- a return flight to the first point of departure, at the earliest opportunity;
(b) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at the earliest opportunity; or
(c) re-routing, under comparable transport conditions, to their final destination at a later date at the passenger's convenience, subject to availability of seats.
They have to offer you a choice (a), (b) or (c), just offering (a) isn't compliant with the EU regulation which applies to ryanair.
BTW lewroll took Jet2 to task on this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3070460
and Jet2 didn't let it go to court.
BTW blondmark's guide to sue ryanair safely http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=59005629&postcount=50
So if they offer a refund that would ruin your plans, ask for a re-routing and then go from there.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
