  • Changing the name of a passanger on a ticket costs £100, it's usually much cheaper to buy a new flight!!

It's gone up to £110 if done online.

Slightly off topic but another big rip off is the price of car parking, which is very often dearer than the cost of the flight.
I agree i.r.o. Stansted. I have flown 11 times from Stansted this year and have not found a car park deal I wanted since February so have been using the bus, whereas last year I flew 17 times and used the car parks for 14 of them including a stonking end July/beg August 14 day "stretch" for just £49.99 ! Those days seem to be well past.

But back to the card fee shenanigans:

The glitch is still there as stated in my post #483.
I`ve just tried again and it doesn`t add the £6 fee for Fairfx card but does for it`s own.
How long this will last is anyone`s guess.
The real test 2010 is what happens after you click "Purchase Now" - that's when the real fun begins (not!)

Whilst not so easily replicated as your glitch, I have seen similar glitches prior to clicking "Purchase Now" only to see it all inevitably fall over with a session timeout error or a billing address error after committing to buy.

I can actually get the flight from Easyjet slightly cheaper (£2) than Ryanair unless the "glitch" doesn`t work then RA are £10 dearer.

When it comes to parking it`s £14 at Birm (RA) and a whacking £35 at Luton (EJet).

Still waiting for Budgetflyer to get me the £3 a day parking link at Luton.

Sorry to keep you waiting. Have to work- keep the UK economy moving upwards;)

Nope not for Luton. Best I can find is £31.87 via https://www.aph.com/toysrus which saves you £3.00 I suppos e:beer:

Can do Birmingham for £12.95 those dates too which is under £3 per day by my maths

Now if you had specified Luton specifically instead your original general statement -

Basically Stansted, Gatwick, Luton, Heathrow are rip-off prices.
Which usually cost more than the airfare.

    Birm., Emids are cheapest.

Don`t know about north of the border as I never park there.
  • Anyone tried clicking Ryanair Cash Passport in the dropdown but then putting in details of a normal prepaid Mastercard?

The Ryanair card is issued by the same company and address as the Travelex Sterling Cash passport and they have the same info on. Their online system would have to be v clever to detect between the two.

Isn't it all in the first six numbers that card types are distinguished?

Take the point but it is some years since Ryanairsolved that exact type of problem after it discovered many of us were selecting Visa Electron but inputting our bog standard Visa Debit numbers :rotfl:

Possibly, but with Neteller all their Net+ cards begin 541592 I believe and then in Neteller's case the next two possibly are possibly card base currency indicators. I know that isn't always the case with any old card because I have a single Citibank VISA debit which I can move around between my different currency accounts just by making a quick phone call ("Please move my debit card from USD to EUR" ""OK that's done for you Sir. Anything else we can help with?"). The card nmber naturally remains the same even when a USD Debit card suddenly has become a Euro Debit card.

I had a play around with a Neteller card number and watched Ryanair's DCC routine convert some non-EUR foreign currency to GBP and EUR on the fly purely on the basis of me changing digits 7 and 8.

Last night I successfully booked a UK departure (let's call UK 'Country A') fee free using a Net+ card in currency B billed in country B via a booking through Ryanair's Country C website ... I forgot to remove the tick in the DCC box because I was in an unfamiliar language so that cost me an extra [STRIKE]5 drachma[/STRIKE] Oops! I mean 50p, I reckon :rotfl:
