Hello everyone,
*hugs* for you and your sister, roz. What a terrible thing to happen.
Birthday wishes to miss elona!
*hugs* for miss moggins - that teacher sounds horrible.
Went shopping after work today, and was glad I did - our asda has some nice offers on just now. Got muller lite yoghurts (42p each) at 10 for £2, so saved £2.80 on those :j Keep seeing the billboard adverts saying things like 'a muller lite yoghurt - less fat than a single crisp or a chocolate button so thought I'd get some for snacks / lunches - but probably won't stop eating the chocolate or crisps too :rotfl: Especially seeing my other great bargain was hula hoop crisps! The 12 pack of original flavour were £1.65, but if you bought 2 packs it only cost £1.50 for both - so £1.80 saving! :T I'll try not to eat them all in a matter of days but I'm not promising anything :T I also bought the cutest eeyore bib for a girl in work who is expecting -its sooooo sweetGot a pack of plain white babysuits too, so if I have time I might see about sewing a couple of pictures on them over the weekend. Went into peacocks as well as noticed they had a big sale on, and got 2 lovely jumpers reduced from £10 to £3 - long wooly ones with a roll neck so I'll be warm :T
The weather here is rather wild  Wind has been howling most of the day and raining on and off - we'll see what the weekend brings! Got some tidying to do, WM to put on as usual - though with the weather the way it is I'll probably end up TD it again. Expecting a parcel from superdrug so can't sleep in as much as usual tomorrow as will have to get up to make sure I don't miss the postman.
*hugs* to all, take or leave as you please0 -
Evening all
(((((hugs))))) to Roz_V and little sis. TBH I sort of feel sorry for the girl who made the comments almost as much as I do for the dead girl's family. Imagine being a 14 year old bully with the potential of growing up into a decent human being. Then imagine having to live with that sort of guilt all your life... on which subject, Roz I think you said absolutely the right thing to your sis, I was just going to suggest something similar prior to reading your more recent post.
Freecyclers have been and gone, taking 14 cardboard boxes with them :j :j - I've got no particular plans for the weekend so I told them that I'd email them on Sunday/Monday if I'd got another batch of boxes unpacked, in case they want any more. Ohhhh it's good to have them out of my bedroom (which was the only place I could put them where they weren't in the way).
Am now relaxing with a glass of wine while watching "The Baby Borrowers" and I'll be watching Martin in a minute on Trevor McDonald. I had to hunt all over for the corkscrew  I almost phoned my mum and asked if she was a corkscrew where would she think of hidingbut found it in the end
I must remember to take the chicken thighs out of the freezer for tomorrow morning - I have various things that need using up and as they include onions, garlic and lemons, I figured a simple SC chicken dish was in order. The only reason I haven't done it yet is that the SC crock needs washing up and I just KNOW that if I start defrosting the chicken first, I will be too lazy to wash the crock and will end up wasting the chicken! How pathetic is that? I just know what I'm like on a lazy Friday evening with a glass of wine in my hand...
Anyway bye for now

Could you tell me where this recipe is from TM?
Well I defrosted the mystery package and heated it up, it was a sausage stew made by DH which had smelled disgusting the first time around and was now completely offputting. So I did an emergency store cupboard Tuna, sauce & rice... much better. The second freezer mistake unearthed tonight were the mushrooms. Again (I'm not picking on him, honest) DH had cooked them and frozen them but ~I wasn't there to see what process he used. They were like leather bladders full of flavourless liquid. I can't think of a way to salvage the other three bags of mushrooms still in the freezer!!!!
Told you I needed an audit.

Roz I was crying reading your post. My DS is 14 and I would hate to think of him being in such a position that he would really believe his life is worth nothing. I know that children can bully because their own self-esteem is so low but surely this bully has been responsible for such bullying before. Why was it not taken seriously previously? As others have said, she will have to bear the burden of her actions for the rest of her life. I only hope she manages to make her life a productive one and can show that she has risen above the base level her life is now.
Moggins I'm guessing your child is in a state school rather than an independent school. I'm a governor at my DD's school and I have to say that far more attention is given to those children with special needs than is given to any child who appears to be gifted or talented. That's purely because the funding is given to keep these children in the mainstream (which I do support on the whole btw). I can only suggest that you ask to have a one-to-one meeting with your son's teacher to express any concerns you have and to ask that work is tailored to meet his level of intelligence. Maybe by showing your concerns, your son's teacher will be goaded into providing him with work that will actually challenge him. My own DS was almost in a similar way but the fact that it was known I was a governor meant that he wasn't left doodling while others completed their work. Of course it shouldn't have to be that way."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Evening All
Having rather a bad day, DD has been extremly clingy all day, she went to bed at 7pm and I have been into her about 10 times already. I'm ashamed to say I have lost my temper and ended up shouting at her, which in turn made my DH angry with me and he has stormed out. My sister is here just to make things abit harder. I just feel like going to bed and crying but I'm the only one who can calm DD down. I've given her some Medised about 3/4 hour ago so I'm hoping this will knock her out.
Sorry for the downer, I just feel so tired and have got nobody to sound off atSorting my life out one day at a time0 -

Why don't schools recognise this?
Mind you, I was identified as "gifted or talented" at about the same age as moggins's DD, and my parents went to have me assessed for special educational needs but then changed their minds about putting me on any kind of fast track programme because my social skills weren't great and my parents didn't want me to become more isolated. I think they were right in hindsight, but I did get bored at school because I wasn't naturally swotty (i.e. motivated) but all the standard stuff was too easy...)Operation Get in Shape
