Hello to everyone. Don't you just love Fridays? :j
I always shoot out of school as early as I can, once I've dismissed the children and had a quick tidy around. Tonight is Lazy Tea night which usually consists of Pizza/fish and oven chips and we have to sit in front of the TV to eat it (as it is the Law in our house!). :rotfl:
I'm really tired tonight and I am actually aching as my job is quite physical as I work with very young children. On the plus side, I don't have any marking to do which I appreciate, as when I was teaching the older children I always came home with a pile of books to mark each evening.
Anyway I hope you all have a relaxing evening.0 -
thats so sad roz and thats what we are here for, to talk to, so young poor child, of course you are worried about your sister thats natural but there is no reason to think she would do anything like that, if she doesnt want to talk on the pc, could you get into the habit of writing to her, maybe send some nice notecards with the envelopes already stamped and keep it light but at the same time let her know you are there for her, you sound like a very caring sister x0

Hello All
I've seriously lapsed in the last two months, neglected OS routines and fallen off the DFW wagon. Haven't done a menu plan since November, and walking passed a bucked load of double cream going for pennies yesterday, gave me a jolt.
House is in a real post Xmas mess.

Roz_V Sorry I've just read your thread. That is awful news. Can you visit your sister and spend some time together so that you can have a big sister talk to her?
I remember the bullies at my school and most of them haven't achieved anything with their lives. Probably because they have continued to spread poison wherever they've gone.0 -
Afternoon everyone :hello:
I had a morning of supply work today, in an okayish school. It was just down the street from the lovely one that I went to yesterday, but it's so different! The children (from the same background as yesterday's lot) aren't as polite, not as respectful etc. Obviously, there are some that are delightful. It's amazing what the effect is from the head has on behaviour and expectations.
I then popped into Stamford because I hadn't been for ages. I managed to resist all the clothes shops, but I couldn't resist Wilkos OR Savers. Well, I NEEDED to stock up on bits and pieces, especially as there isn't a Wilkos any closer for me (well, there is but it's near the school that I left last term so I don't want to run into any parents). I'd forgotten how fantastic Savers was, until I gasped at the mircofibre cloths (99p for 3) and Stardrops (69p :j :j). The lady on the till must have thought that I was particularly tragic when I raced up to pay for them!
I probably won't be online tomorrow. DH and I are meeting up with my parents, before heading to the dizzy heights of Leicester for a rugby match. Then we're popping in to see DH's big sis, her husband and our little godson/nephew. I'm a bit narked actually with them. DH's twin sister got our nephew (and her nephew) a fantastic Thomas the Tank Engine toy for Christmas. We've heard how fantastic it is from MIL and FIL, but haven't heard anything about the present that we bought for him. Okay, so it's not a bells and whistles toy, but I thought that it was great fun for a 2year old. We haven't even had a thank you for it (verbally, or written). It's just me being petty, I suppose........
I've also had fantastic news from one of my bridesmaids - her boyfriend has got a job! He's been looking for one for ages (he's just finished a Phd ) and had applied for loads, without even getting an interview. BUT first interview and he gets a job! :T I'm so pleased for them, as they're such a lovely couple.
Supper tonight is a pasta sauce (with pasta, the recipe of which I got from this month's Good Housekeeping magazine. Fingers crossed it's nice!

Thanks for all the comments,
The school (and all the kids) know who the girl responsible for the comments is, but I don't know what action they will take (the girl went to the head of year when she found out what had happened and admitted what she had said). My sister hangs around with a group of people who, although not nasty, are not exactly virtuous little angels so I have phoned her and warned her not to say anything to the girl who's been accused as she'll have to live with what she said for the rest of her life, and if all the kids gang up on her she may do/attempt the same thing
I'm just upset that any girl of 14 could honestly believe that her life wasn't worth living. I can't imagine what her family are going through.
Thanks again for all the comments :grouphug:0 -

apart from some studying before I go will be doing nothing else today
Kyle - our kids loved the space centre more than disney
we had tickets for a launch (they cost a bit extra but you get bused to the launch site to see it close up) unfortunately our launch got cancelled with a hour to go because of a fuel leak. the ticket covers you for the launch not the date if you know what I mean. So we could have gone back but we didnt want to risk using another day out of our holiday if the same happened.
watch the news reports on tv. they will keep you up to date with the launch and you can see them go up from anywhere. we saw ours go up from epcot!
we just booked our villa for florida on wednesday..we go July (our 3rd time) cant wait....although we said last time was the last time
I agree, Epcot and the Space Center were brilliant - lucky if you see a launch too:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

What a terrible thing to happen Roz, I have a 14 year old son and the thought that it could happen to him is terrifying, her poor family must be going through hell. You're doing the right thing in offering your support to your sister, at least she's got you to talk to.My thoughts and prayers are with your sister and the girls family xxxxDo what you love :happyhear0
