Been trying to get hold of them since I finished work, and 2 numbers keep ringing, and the other 2 are constantly engaged. I've had no reply from 2 secure messages on their online system, and no reply from the 2 emails I sent to them. Beginning to think I'm being fobbed off.
Are we legally entitled to charge them a late payment fee, as they are quick to charge me with a late payment!Debt Free By Olympics 2012

Two months ago I had a bit of a panic and I thought I was not going to be able to pay my visa minimum payment that month. I rang Lloyds and was referred to their Customer Referral place who I then gave my whole life story to. They decided to put my card on 'block' for the time being as it was in their words irresponsible to let me have any further funds.
I foolishly thought that this would only apply if I did nt make the payment as I foolishly thought that being upfront would help.
I then spoke to my partner who told me not to be stupid and agreed to give me more housekeeping each month. Sorted. Two direct debits later, no arrears, I thought I'd ring them to make sure they had not blocked my card in case I needed to use it. I was told they had closed my account!!! After much screaming I was told they had nt actually closed it, it was however blocked until I could prove I could pay it, for 'at least three more months'.
I have been with Lloyds for 20+ years, had platinum visa, platinum service current and savings account, insurance, loans etc and never once have I missed a payment. I ring up once with concerns and they close down my account. For the journey my a**e.
Anyway to get to the point. I,m expecting a ppi refund for the same , now blocked card. If my payments are up to date, which they will be, can lloyds use the refund to pay off my visa? Or am I within my rights to demand it to be put into my bank account?
Any advice greatly appreciated.0 -

If you are not in default or in arrears then it's an option.
However your credit card company may request you clear your balance with the funds. At least the debt then would be paid.
A point to note is this thread is a hsbc one hence possibly the lack of replies. Perhaps start a new thread.
Hope all goes well for you.0 -

Have you confirmed with hsbc by telephone when they received your acceptance letter and when they opened the letter and when they started the process of payment or have you started counting from when you posted it back.
ie : I posted mine back on a Friday which means they got it on the Saturday and hopefully opened it on Monday but without checking I have no idea when it was opened, hence my question above.
I'm on working day 3.0 -
