It is now Monday at 6.25pm and guess what. Still no phone. I called Virgin at 4pm so they would be able to call Yodel, being that they are the customer and not me. As I know that customer services close at 5pm. Virgin called Yodel and was told that it is on the delivery van. That was 2 1/2 hours ago and still nothing.

I have spent the day looking for an email address for Jonathan smith who is the CEO of Yodel to complain to him. but have found nothing. Is this man hiding away or something. All I want is my new phone.

    Hi,

Yodel is not your customer, so I would not be writing to them - complain to Virgin .,,,

  • Hi Mark thats what i said Virgin is the customer and not me.

Yodel have now admitted that Visability has been lost on this parcel - meaning that they have lost it somewhere. virgin have sent out another phone on Friday for next day delivery. So again using Yodel's website to track your parcel. My phone arrived at the Lichfield depot at 05.52 am. then nothing. I called their customer services using the number 0800 1577777 which i found on the website say no to 0870 25 mins later someone picked up and they contacted Lichfield depot who said that the vans were still being loaded up.

ok brilliant I thought my phone is actually comin. 2 1/2 hours later there was still no update on their system so I gave them another call and was told that my phone had missed the delivery van and that It wouldnt be going out till Monday.

Called virgin again who tried to offer me 1 months compensation on my phone package which is only £10.21 a month. So after a bit of haggling I managed to get 3 months worth.

I have also sent another complaint to Yodel. They did respond to the last complaint.
  • Well I'm totally p***** off with Yodel. I ordered a book last week from RUCraft via Amazon. It's a birthday present for my sister.

I've been out since early this morning and got back at 7.00pm to find a package outside my front porch completely soaking wet from the rain. I knew immediately from the label that it was my book.

I quickly opened the soaked package hoping to find my book not water damaged too (as I've had books from Amazon before sealed in plastic wrapping) but sadly it is. It's soaked through totally on every single page  I'm gutted because it's my sister's birthday next Saturday.

I don't understand why the courier just left it outside. I've had stuff delivered by Yodel before and they have returned items back to the depot if no one has been home and they have left a delivery card so that I can arrange a redelivery or collection.

I have emailed RUCraft this evening and sent them photos of the damaged packaging and book. I have also emailed Yodel, but can't send them any photos because I can only contact them via the online contact form.

I hope I get a replacement in time for my sister's birthday.
  • Yodel have been great at the moment for me

I hope they don't turn bad after a while

I ordered goods from Sports Direct last week.

I work from home, so I am always in the house.

I was shocked when I checked the tracking on line this morning , to see Yodel claiming to have attempted delivery x 3 , with cards allegedly left, and then 2 x parcel refusals as the home owner claimed not to have ordered the items.

I sent a furious email of complaint to Elaine Boyle, at 12.26pm today. She emailed me back at 12.53pm to say that this matter was being passed to the Service Centre Manager for investigation (Carlisle Depot)

Within 5 minutes, the Manager rang me. We established that the problem arose because Sports Direct wrongly addressed the postage label, so the driver HAD been attempting delivery, but to a town 7 miles away ( which is the postal town for the small village I live in).

She promptly dispatched a van & driver, with my parcel. The depot is 17 miles from my home, and I had my parcel 20 minutes later.

I am very quick to complain about bad service, but I wanted to post here to show that on this occasion, although there were problems, they were put right very very quickly.

I have emailed Elaine Boyle back to pass on my compliments - as I think it is only fair to do so.

I have gone from being very cross, to very impressed, in the space of 2 hours, and I have a very happy teen with her new clothes.

    A good day's work

I'd make a sarcastic comment about Yodel, but you probably wouldn't get it.

When they rang back, you should've made them wait 40 minutes and then hung up on them. See how they like it.

And, had Yodel tried to deliver it to the "right" wrong address, or a completely different one from the one on the address label, as usual?

Personally, I now ask who firms use for deliveries. If they say Yodel, I ask them to use someone else. If they can't or won't. I cancel the order, look elsewhere and never use that firm again. I never use than again anyway. If they use Yodel, then they can't give a !!!! about their customers.

^^ Good point - I will never know the answer to that :rotfl:

My village name was missing from the address label, so it looked as if my house ( which only has a house name, and we don't have a street name either) was in our Postal Town, not my village - if that makes sense.

However, the Post Code on the label was correct, so they really should have used a bit of initiative.

Regardless, I do think they did well in the end to resolve things.

  • Yodel seem to be pretty spotty depending which depot you are likely to get your delivery from. My first delivery was about a year ago and they did a runaround with my new laptop and failed to deliver at all, meaning we had to go to the Bar Hill Depot next day. The address on the label seemed to be messed up, so I don't know if that was an issue on Yodel or PC World's part at the time.

After that mishap though, the local Cambridge area Yodel seems to have gotten into good form, got tons of packages from Disney thru them and some amazon deliveries via them show up just fine. They also seem to have their proper vans now, rather than the nondescript ones some areas use.

Still a shame they still havent quite got all regions up to speed, hopefully they continue improving, as when the service works right, it is pretty good.
